    2250 Wazzdakka Frenzy

I was bored today, so I thought I'd try and make a bike heavy list without resorting mainly to nob bikers. I'm also experimenting with Meganobz as elite choices, rather than troops. Since I rarely use them to claim objectives (they're more like high powered assassins), it doesn't seem like that much of a problem. Here's the list:

    HQ

    Wazzdakka [180]

Big mek w/KFF, cybork, bosspole (with one of the units of meganobz) [100]

    TROOP

4 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw and bosspole (wazzdakka goes here) [140]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw and bosspole [165]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw and bosspole [165]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw and bosspole [165]

20 Shoota boyz w/2 big shootas, nob, powerklaw and bosspole [170]

20 Shoota boyz w/2 big shootas, nob, powerklaw and bosspole [170]

    ELITE

    3 Meganobz w/3 combi-scorchas, trukk, ram [175]

    3 Meganobz w/3 combi-scorchas, trukk, ram [175]

    3 Meganobz w/3 combi-scorchas, trukk, ram [175]

    FAST

    3 Rokkit buggies [105]

    3 Rokkit buggies [105]

    HEAVY

Battlewagon w/big shoota, deffrolla, grot riggers, armor plates [130]

Battlewagon w/big shoota, deffrolla, grot riggers, armor plates [130]

The trukks and battlewagons ride up the field within range of the KFF. The shootas either go in the battlewagons or stay in the deployment zone, depending on whether they have to claim objectives or not. The rokkit buggies and bikes either break off into 2 groups or stick together as they supercharge up.

The army basically lays down a ridiculous amount of dakka while staying on the move, and since the bikes are troop choices, they can also claim objectives at the end of the game. The meganobz can either deal with hordes (with their scorchas) or team up on powerful close combat units, burying them in powerklaw attacks.

    What do you think?

Ahhhhhahahahahah! I don't even care how that list performs, it's funny as hell. I think many opponents just won't know how to deal with it.
Two's to kill. Ahh, sweet sweet music.

    He he

Courtsloth! The man who got me hooked on Ork bikers. ^_^

Yeah, that's the idea. I might play it at the next tournament, just to bring something unique. I honestly have no idea if it'll work or not, but I'm sure it'll be interesting either way.

It looks like some serious fun; you should go for it.

I'd go for it to. It would probably also a bit refreshing for opponents tired of facing a wall of green. Not that they'll win either way but still.

    Not bad

I actually did fairly well, considering that I play at a very competitive environment. I went 2-1. It's the sort of tournament where you always play 3 times, regardless if you win or lose each round. The players with the highest total points (based on how well they did on the missions) wins and the next highest takes second. I only scored high enough to get fourth, but that wasn't bad (and as a consolation, I beat the Tyranid player who won the tournament, he just did well enough in his other matches to score higher).

The list was FANTASTIC at grabbing objectives, the obscurement from the KFF was invaluable for the vehicles, and the amount of dakka it could lay down was nothing short of amazing. The meganobz, rokkit buggies, bikes, shoota boyz, and battlewagons with deffrollas all performed very well. Part of the advantage of the list was it took opponents by surprise. They kept expecting me to rush in for the assault, and instead I'd stop a little over 12 inches away and then shoot them to pieces.

The weaknesses of the list were its relatively high number of kill points (the Chaos list that beat me was all infantry, only had 11 kill points in it, and it was an annihilation mission ), its lack of close combat punch, and the vulnerability of the meganobz (they certainly performed very well, but 3 units of them in trukks were a liability in annihilation missions).

Overall, the list did quite well, but it was never overwhelming. It never wiped my opponents out. If just performed a bit better almost every time.

Here's my updated version, which I'd suggest as a better version of the list:

    HQ

    Wazzdakka [180]

Big mek w/KFF, 'eavy, bosspole (with one of the units of meganobz) [95]

    TROOP

5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw and bosspole (wazzdakka goes here) [165]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw and bosspole [165]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw and bosspole [165]

20 Shoota boyz w/2 big shootas, nob, powerklaw and bosspole [170]

20 Shoota boyz w/2 big shootas, nob, powerklaw and bosspole [170]

20 Shoota boyz w/2 big shootas, nob, powerklaw and bosspole [170]

    ELITE

4 Meganobz w/4 combi-scorchas, trukk, ram (attach KFF here) [220]

    3 Meganobz w/3 combi-scorchas, trukk, ram [175]

    FAST

    3 Rokkit buggies [105]

    3 Rokkit buggies [105]

    HEAVY

Battlewagon w/big shoota, deffrolla, grot riggers [120]

Battlewagon w/big shoota, deffrolla, grot riggers [120]

Battlewagon w/big shoota, deffrolla, grot riggers [120]

The shoota boyz add more punch, it has 1 less kill point, the battlewagon/shoota boyz are much harder kill points to get than the trukk/meganobz/warbikes they replaced, the unit of MANZ with the KFF attached is more likely to last, and another deffrolla is always a plus.

    Thanks for the advice everyone!
