Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm building this army for a competitive upcoming league that my local GW store is having. I'm playing against a lot of people who are more experienced than I am, and I have no idea what most of them are playing (though, I think IG, Eldar and another ork player are at least a few)
The 1750pt army is Locked and static as soon as I show up and declare what my army is, so I want to make sure it can handle a wide variety of challenges.
Big Mek kFF 85
Warboss PK 85
20x Boyz Nob Pk Bosspole 160
12x Boyz Nob Pk Trukk w/ Ram and RPJ 152
12x Boyz Nob Pk Trukk w/ Ram and RPJ 152
8x Nobs Incl. Painboy heavy armor 270 (in BW)
Battlwagon w/ Deffrolla RPJ Grot Riggers 130
10x Kommandos w/ Burna Nob PK 150pt
10x Lootas 150 pts
10x StormBoyz Incl. Nob w/ PK 155pt
6x Warbikes Incl. Nob w/ PK 190 pt
Total 1679 Pt (71pts)
Total PK's 7
Total Models 90 + 3 vehicles
This is what I have so far, and that leaves me with 71 Pts left.
---I'm considering giving my Nobs Cybork Armor, but that almost feels like I'm giving them too many points already and it feels a bit redundant having both Heavy and Cybork--thought I know the Invuln save comes in handy.
Of course, I should probably throw another PK in there as well, which combined with Cybork for 8 Nobs and a Warboss, would equate to exactly 70 pts. 9assuming I have a Warboss or other HQ unit with them (45 for 9 Cybork Units + 25 for the Pk)
--Also, I'm wondering I should give my Battlewagon a Gun of some kind...but I'm not sure which would be the best choice due to it's Low BS. As a final Note, I thnk I will put the Big Mek with a KFF in the Battlewagon.
--Right now I plan on putting Nobs in my Battlewagon, but since it's open-topped and contains 20 spots, I'm half tempted to put my 20 Footslogga boyz in there. In which case, I would put the Nobs in a Trukk, and probably use some of the 71 pts to add some more Boyz to the Unit that the Nobz would replace. Or I could add a 3rd Trukk to put them in.
I'm not sure how good Stormboyz are, but I wanted to give them a shot because I have some really cool Kustom Models that could be used as Stormboyz or Deffkoptas. If they aren't that useful, then I could probably switch them out for something better.

My thoughs on this are that kommandoes are better accompained by snikrot, this way they are much better at taking down heavy weapons teams hinding at the back of the board. I dont like lootas as much as a lot of people as they are only AP4 and if you roll a one for shots you are not going to be hitting a lot, you might kill 3-4 models, which for a horde killing unit (i think) thats not going to cut it. Id drop the Lootas for snikrot and whatever other uprageds or troops you need (personal preference) The other thing ive found is that stromboys are a suicide squad, they are fast, hit hard, kill in combat and get shot and die. Again that is my findings from games, not well established tactics so dont kill me if im wrong. Other than that looks like a solid list to me. oh and definatly give them the invulerable save, as if saves 1 nob from a powerfist its earnt itself back (i think)
Heavy armour is not worth it. replace it with cybork bodies. You get a feel no pain save anyway against mundane weapons which is the same as the heavy armour and you can take it after failing your 5+ inv save. Just watch out for the 4 psycannon purgation squad.
As far as 70 points go I would invest in either another trukk so everbody rides or upgrade your biker mob to nobs ( I think you might lose 1 biker). Sure its mean but it would hit like bricks. and do your 20 walking boys have shoota goes they should. If possible give them 2 big shoota's
Ironically, when I was playin at my local store, another Veteran of 40k told me that Cybork armor sucked and I should equip them with Heavy Armour next time...(because why would you want to roll a 5, then a 4, when you could just roll a 4, then a 4). I couldn't think of a good counter-argument at the time, but of course it came to me later....all the weapns that have AP4 or better and anything that cuts through armour (such as Power Weapons).
Regardless, it seems like a lot of people here like to put both Heavy armor and Cybork on their Nobs, but I guess if I decide to stick to one, it will definitely be Cybork Armor.
Also, I was wondering if the Rokkit Boyz and 6x Warbikers are worth it...or if they might be too fragile in such small numbers.
