Hi I've just started orks and I wanted to make an army list before I buy anything.
I kind of have an idea, but not sure how different units function on the board.
Here are some things I want for sure:
I'm not sure about how I want to organize my slots. Please give me some feedback. Thanks.
I'd love to fit all of that into a 500 point list as well! Lootas rock, but for such a small force it's probably not the best use of points simply because it will deny you more objective taking units. The Trukk and Big Mek are good picks and boyz...well that's obvious! Lets see what can be done:
Big Mek with Kustom Force Field (85pts)
12 Slugga Boyz, Nob, powerklaw, bosspole, Trukk (147pts)
20 Slugga Boyz, Nob, powerklaw, bosspole (160pts)
7 Lootas (105pts)
Army Total: 497pts
The Big Mek would march with the 20 slugga boyz. So there are two problems with this list as I see it. One, if you have an objective mission you only have two Troops that can get the job done. The other problem is that your Trukk Boyz and other Slugga unit could quickly get seperated from one another since one is a footslogging unit the other is speedy. This could make it difficult to suppor the Trukk Boyz. BUT, that is where the Lootas come in. The Lootas can be used to soften up the enemy lines prior to the trukk assault or provide some light anti-tank support. That brings up another point. You don't have anthing in the list for really punch tough armor (13 or 14). Perhaps avoidance would be your best bet.
Hope this helps,
Wow thanks so much for the good quick reply.
I like the list, and I think I'll take it.
I think that I'll have two lists, one with lootas and one with possibly another trukk and something that can punch through armour. I'll try them both out.
So I'm wondering what's the best think for taking out armour?
A similar discussion came up a little while ago. The LO member was looking for the best thing to take out armor at Long Range. I think everything that was said by all users was really relevant to this question. I broke it down as well with this response:
Hope that helps answer the question,
