heres my try at a tyranid list. i always hear good things about the bugs but i hardly see them in action except for apocalypse games at my store so heres my crack at it.
HQ- Tyrant - scything x 2, warpblast, adrenal glands +1 i/WS,
bio plasma,extended carapace, implant attack, toxic miasma, toxin sacs
Elite - Warriors x 5- 4- scything x 2, 1 with barbed strangler/scything talon,
adrenal glands +1 i/WS,extended carapace,leaping,toxin sacs
Troops- Gaunt brood 1- 22 with fleshborer, toxin sacs
Gaunt brood 2- 22 with fleshborer, toxin sacs
Hormagaunt brood 1- 20 with toxin sacs
Hormagaunt brood 2- 20 with toxin sacs
Heavy- Biovore x 5 with bioacid and frag mines
CC Carnifex- scything x 2,acid maw, adrenal glands +1 WS,bio plasma,
bonded exoskeleton, extended carapace, implant attack,
flesh hooks, regenerate, reinforced chitin, symbiote rippers,
tail mace,thornback,toxic miasma, toxin sacs, tusked
shooty Carnifex- TW Devourer, Venom Cannon, bonded exoskeleton, extended carapace, Enhanced senses +1 BS, regenerate, reinforced chitin,tail sythe, toxin sacs, tusked
i know i got alot of upgrades here but i still got alot of punch in it. so please tell me what you think.
Well since nobody hasd responded to this list I've decided to rework it so that it doesnt have as many upgrades. Plus I did the biovores wrong cause i was looking at army builder. Heres my new list.
Tyrant - scything x 2, adrenal glands +1 i/WS, toxin sacs, winged
Elite - none
Gaunt brood 1- 25 with spinefists, toxin sacs
Gaunt brood 2- 25 with spinefists, toxin sacs
Hormagaunt brood 1- 20 with adrenal glands +1 i/WS, toxin sacs
Hormagaunt brood 2- 20 with adrenal glands +1 i/WS, toxin sacs
Warriors x 6- 5- scything x 2, 1 with barbed strangler/scything talon,
adrenal glands +1 i/WS,leaping,toxin sacs, winged
Biovore x 3 with bioacid and frag spores
scything x 2, adrenal glands +1 WS,bonded exoskeleton, extended carapace, regenerate, reinforced chitin, tail mace, toxin sacs, tusked

total 2002. so what do you guys think of this army?

wow nobody has anything to say about this? is that good or that bad?
Let me give you some tips. Take them with a grain of salt.
Biovore are not that great since your opponent get KP for spore mines. You also cannot capture location with it (you can deny however). Did you have a battle plan in mind for them?
Leaping + wing on the warriors!!! The warriors are not that great in CC. You only have 2 synapse unit and this one is gonna be way ahead of the others. Only 1 barbed strangler in a CC unit (I do not see any other gun) is not a good idea. If you take shooty weapons, remove leaping (and maybe wing to get extended carapace instead).
My opinion is that hormies cost too much. That being said, I do use them and when I do, I also field them in brood of 15-20 (I like the size you choose). I did some tests to know which upgrade is more efficient and my conclusions were that for the same number of points you are better off with either vanilla hormies or uber hormies (toxin & both adrenal glands). With vanilla hormies you are more resilient and with uber hormies you are more efficient (but cannot really afford to lose to many).
If I were you, I would add a brood of genestealers (between 8 and 12). Remember that 100 models is a lot of model to handle. I prefer to use less models so that I can finish my games in a decent amount of time.
Another question, do you have a strategy to throw your opponent off guards? This may sound ridiculous, but having deepstrikers (raveners, lictor, gargoyles, wings), outflanckers, infiltrators, WON brood, psychic screams or unusual strategy (going for a shooty list).
