    Warriors, the only nid.

Here's roughly the army that I used.

    HQ

    8 Warriors - 296
    AG(WS),TS, ST+RC, Leaping

    Troops
    11 Spinegaunts - 50

    Elite
    6 Warriors - 218
    ES,TS, VC+ST, TL-Devourerx5

    6 Warriors - 218
    ES,TS, VC+ST, TL-Devourerx5

    6 Warriors - 213
    ES,TS, BS+ST, TL-Devourerx5

    Fast Attack
    7 Warriors - 301
    AG(WS),Wings, TS, ST+RC

    7 Warriors - 301
    AG(WS),Wings, TS, ST+RC

    1996 points sounds about right.

Its a fun army indeed and 48 warriors and 33 spinegaunts is no joke. The downside is serious lack of anti-tank espiecially since I can't kill a vehicle with a glancing hit anymore (oh the joys of 6s on rhinos with a VC xD). Now I guess I would have to hope I can get some 6's with their rending (5+6+3 = 14, which is even glancing on an LR) with 24 attacks per squad, chances of a rhino living aren't to great I'd imagine. On top of the pesky spinegaunts, while not particularly powerful they are cheap and most likely to be ignored leaving them to go grab stuff.

    What do you think?

Very interesting. Only 3x11 spinegaunts? Methinks you need Without Numbers somewhere there. I'd also like to see how you will handle a Monolith or Land Raider/LRC/LRR. Also, without EC, them TW boyz are going down faster than their fast attack. To me, this would be an experimental army...try it once or twice and then go back to my regular army.

I played this in 4th (or something similar It's been awhile x.x) so troops weren't to much of an issue, but tanks I generally avoided as best I could, which worked out fine for the most part. I guess it's different in 5th and I thought about dropping a model int he each of the HQ slots for more gaunts/without number.

    HQ

    6 Warriors - 222
    AG(WS),TS, ST+RC, Leaping

    6 Warriors - 222
    AG(WS),TS, ST+RC, Leaping

    Troops

    17 Spinegaunts without number - 136

    17 Spinegaunts without number - 136

    Elite

    6 Warriors - 218
    ES,TS, VC+ST, TL-Devourerx5

    6 Warriors - 218
    ES,TS, VC+ST, TL-Devourerx5

    6 Warriors - 213
    ES,TS, BS+ST, TL-Devourerx5

    Fast Attack

    7 Warriors - 301
    AG(WS),Wings, TS, ST+RC

    7 Warriors - 301
    AG(WS),Wings, TS, ST+RC

Dropped some from the HQ for a bunch of gaunts without number. It still needs some work and it's still on the backburner for my other two armies so =P

Spinegaunts in smaller groups with WON works better. Such a large unit takes too long to respawn and run across the board again. They work well in kill point games, but smaller units allow you "spread out" your gaunts to grab multiple objectives.

You want them to be able to kill off all your gaunts in 1 or at most 2 rounds. This will draw a lot of gunfire that will otherwise be dedicated to your more dangerous units. If they get killed off, next turn your opponent will ignore them as your other units will be within assault range and require their attention. Then you will have plenty of time on turn 3 onwards to get your gaunts to the objectives.

    I would go like this:

    Objectives-based Mission
    9x Spinegaunts without number
    9x Spinegaunts without number
    8x Spinegaunts without number
    8x Spinegaunts without number

    Annihilation Mission
    17x Spinegaunts without number
    17x Spinegaunts without number
