im going to start a new necron army i have colected space marines what do you think i should get to start it.
Hey Jamin Welcome to LO! And welcome to the Necrons.
If you can afford it go grab the Necron Warrior Phalanx, or baring that a battleforce. The battleforce allows for a bit more customization, since you'll have money to spend on other units, however the Phalanx gives you a strong, straight up 1.5k army to start out with and enough warriors to convert into some specialist units.
Also, tomb spyders, tombs spyders are amazing an' happy.
Check around the forum, there's plenty of good articles and such around to give you solid advice on how to use the army as well.
what did you start with when you had little money?
Necron warrior boxes, and a necron lord. I've got one of every model in the Necron army except C'tan and monolith, and never purchased a boxed set. Though if you CAN save up for a battleforce, it will save you a ton of cash. (roughly $40 USD).
Edit: Also wohooo! 1k posts!
how much is that in GBP's?
If you're starting out you're probably going to be playing 500-1,000 point games, right? In this case I would advise getting 20-30 Warriors (2 squads), one Lord, 3-5 Destoyers, and maybe 7-10 Scarabs. This will get you a good start and allow you to get a feel for how the Necrons play. After you play awhile you'll probably want to add a Monolith, some elites, more Warriors, or more Destroyers depending on your playing style.
how long have you been colecting
Over 5 years ago. Took a two year break from winter '05 'till winter '07 roughly though. I started with two boxes of warriors, a lord and some heavy destroyers, then just worked my way up from there, kinda trying units out to see what I liked and what I didn't. Still wish those boxed sets had come out earlier though.
ive collected for around two years but i hardley go to games workshop
