Hi guys, I'm new to Eldar. I have been playing orks for a long time and decided its time to change things up. Eldar are really different and I need some help picking a starting list. Any info would help me alot. Thanks in advance.
Heres what I came up with.
Psyker; Doom ; Guide ; Fleet; Ghost Helm ; Rune Armour ; Spirit Stones ; Shuriken Pistol ; shining spear
Troops: Dire Avengers
9 Dire Avengers
Fleet; Avenger S-Catapult
1 Dire Avenger Exarch
Fleet; Bladestorm ; Power Weapon; Shimmershield
Fleet; Infiltrate; Move Through Cover; Stealth; Ignore Difficult Terrain; Pathfinder Stealth; Scouts; Pathfinders; Shuriken Pistol (Sp) (x5); Ranger Long Rifle (RLRifle)
Troops: Guardian Squad
10 G Defender Squad
Shuriken Catapult (SCat) (x10)
1 Weapon Platform
Scatter Laser (SctL)
Total Roster Cost: 500
I think the points are right but I might have messed up a bit. so please let me know what you think
I don't see a screw up, then again I dont have my codex in front of me. The only "screw up" I see is the fact that a farseer carries a singing spear not a shining spear. shining spearrs are fast attack choices that are expensive str.8 power weapons.
In terms of the list...not bad. My issue is there's little anti-tank. I see only 2 things capable of popping a rhino. 1 of which has to get close. Luckily you'll only see 2 tops in 500 points. When you eventually decide to go 750 or 1000 put the dire avengers in a wave serpebt.
Hope this helped. I'm not awake at the moment
oops typo on the spear =(. What do you suggest I add for tank popping? maybe a bright lance in the guardian squad? And yes I am going to be placing my DA in a WS once i hit 700-1000 point games so don't worry about that
As an option you can switch the rangers with fire dragons. I know they are most effective with a waveserpent but its a 500 list, and probably a small table. Also you will probably not have many MCs in front of you for your rangers to shine. If there are no tanks to pop around those dragons might help you with MEQ's as well.
Yeah fire dragons would work and fit within the points. maybe I'll buy both pathfinders and fire dragons next time I'm at gw and see what works best.
