Welcome to Librarium Online!
hi there I'm new to 40k and made a 500p list to learn with but wanted to see how it stacked up.
well here it is:
2 squads of 10
squad 1- brightlance weapon platform
squad 2- Shuriken cannon platform
10 Dire Avengers
1 squad of 10
Exarch upgrade with twin catapults
the point total is actually around 512. This is made with the models I got from a army kit it has a wraithlord in it but i have yet to assemble it and it's my first any help is greatly appreciated.
well how new are you?
i'm assuming you know al the rules and things.
personally i am a guardian hater, but in 500 points i can see te usefullness, and if it's a legal list you will need one hq choice, maybe just a doom seer will be enough, but for a 500 point sarmy there not much room for tweaking it. glad you chose eldar though (Y)
Death to the Alien!
who likes cockroaches anyway.
Ordos Xenos 4/0/3
I'm familiar with the rules but I've only played a kill team game at a hobby shop. I've watched a few games too. I didn't know you needed to have a Hq unit funny that army set didn't come with one.
I was thinking of swapping out the guardians for a 10 squad of Avengers and adding that doom seer in but don't have the models yet.
ok so I tried out the list over the weekend. It did ok at a 750p game with some extras thrown in and I did ok didn't win but i got the basics down. i bought 2 farseers, some howling banshees and striking scorpions. I wanna work it up to a 1000p list but i want to play some more matches at smaller pts so i can work it out it might be at 750 instead of 500 now.
Welcome to Eldar.
Hardest race to use. Most powerful race to win with. They are the most strategic race above most others. (bold statements huh?)
You need 1 HQ choice and 2 Troop choices in any sized game you play. Eldar have the option of the farseer, autarch, and avatar as the main ones.
Assembling that Wraithlord and throwing a scatter laser on him with some flamers marching up the field will definitely cause some damage at that low of point levels.
If you can, switch the guardian plat forms out for shruicannons and scatter lasers and give the old bright lance to papa wraithlord. dropping the falcon withscatter and stones will allowroom for thewraithlord with lance and maybe get a warlock withconcealinfor a guaridian squad.
I guess I'll try that. I was just thinking about heavily armored units like terminators since the the people i play with like to use them. The last game i played was a 4 way 750 match and basically i got murdered by the terminators at the end. one of the guys had a reserve deployment or something like that and his units ended up right next to a squad of guardians. I was thinking of incorporating a squad of banshees or scorpions to deal with things that get too close to my shooters.
A cruel thing that i ran in my 500 list was a falcon with 5 ladies and a guideseer inside. Granted my troop choices were unbelievably restricted at that point, 5 DA's and 10 guardians with shuricannon, but it was TOUGH to stop.
Amping up to 750 give you more room to either fill out the squads you have, or introduce another heavy support/elite unit. In 750 you should *probably* still be fine with 2 troop choices as long as you protect em.
But yeah, welcome to Eldar, a very fun army to play with, full of unbelievable zero casualty victories one game and getting tabled the next (stupid heavy bolters).
ok so i just threw this list together now
Dire Avengers x10
-dual shuri for exarch
Howling Banshees x6
the total should be 680 if the points are right

You gotta take the point values off, or an admin will get ya, I would also think about the executioner instead of mirror swords, and you have to have 2 troop choices, so throw in 5 more DA's to take you closer to 750 and fill the requirement.
sorry i didn't know about the points thing. So elites don't count as troop choices ok I'll throw in the 5 DAs it'll fill out the points too thanks
i forgot to add do you need an exarch in the squads? or can i just leave those 5 as regular DAs
