Ok this is my first real attempt a serious army list. I am limited on the models i have so bear that im mind when you give suggestions please. I have a few models i can switch out if needed though.
ok so here i go
HQ el TLMP Shield Gen Stim injector He is mobile medium infantry killer, will likely Deep strike him or place him in a good spot far away from heavy armor.
1 shas ui Monat Airbusrting thingie TL flamers HWMT Iridium Armor Stim injector Deep strikeing in next to dug in infantry, i have had pretty good luck with him since my path finder transport gives me the deep strike reroll
1 Shas ui Monat TL fusion blaster Flamer dropped him in behind lemon russ squad and BOOM no more tank if i do it right i have even gotten out of sight from the rest of his tanks and survived two turns
6 stealth suits with Targeting array inflitrate in and kill postioned in fantry
3 12 man Firewarrior squads took 3 of them for lost of objective taking
5 man Pathfinder team with transport disruption pods i only have the 5 models so i am kinda screwed here
Rail head with SMS MT Disruption pods
1 skyray with SMS Disruption pods i have found this to be a nice mobile marker light platform not to mention i block LOS with him and most people fire at something else rather than killing it.
2 Broadsides with SMS and A.S.S i have two of these mainly cause i think they are the coolest looking thing in the whole game. plus there great at killing tanks so far
I am pretty sure that gives me 44 points free. If i can swing it i would like to up the path finders to 8 which would use most of my points but i am not sure how strick the tourney's around here are going to be about FW with pulse carbines and the little markerlight hands.
One glaring thing is that you have two stimulant injectors and they are special issue (one per army, though the way Feel No Pain is being passed out...)
Not bad, might have some trouble with MEQs, no plasma.
Other wise, I prefer burst cannons on hammer heads since you can only fire one weapon while moving 12" and they're cheaper while still being able to put out 6 shots.
The shield generator and stimulant injector on you commander aren't the best choice for a death rain configuration, another weapon like plasma or fusion blaster could help more.
The fire warriors can use the pathfinder's fish but it would be nice to have another so two squads can be mobile for grabbing objectives and avoiding assaults.
The Tyranid torpedo? Its a giant facehuger cannon. It fires an army of facehugers at the other ships. It should cause fear.
I would suggest that you protect your BASS guys a little more. Taking a T-Ldr with HWTL, BK, HWDC and 2 SDs will make the unit into 205pts but you have got a unit which can target two enemy units simultaneously, with 6 wounds in the squad and two of those can be Invulnerable if necessary. Put these guys in hard cover and watch folks try to dislodge them.
Shas'el TLMP TArgetting Array Stims. Drop that SG; you shouldn't have him anywhere near the enemy. His weapon range is 42" when taking the JSJ into account.
The Monat with the AFP has to be Shas'vre level as only 'Vre and above may take the Special Issue stuff.
36 Fire Warriors could also be split into 4x 9-man units. They need a 'Ui team leader with BK though regardless what size you take. You don't want these guys running off the table if they are going to be objective holders.
As far as strictness is concerned, it would be a good idea to contact the Tournament Organisers to get the official word from them about WYSIWYG etc. Otherwise you could end up not being permitted to use certain models.
"Tau Commandment #226: Participants who use Velocity Trackers in the Tau Clay Pigeon Tournament will be disqualified"
so i tried this army list and it failed pretty hard. The whole mess of troops really isn't a great idea i think. Mostly cause there so squishy and they seem to always get killed by some deep striking assasin/demon prince/other random person. I am going to come up with an alternative. Also the Skyray seems to be pretty useful so i think i am going to keep it in there.
On a side note it seems basically a no brainer to take disruption pods on ALL vehicles that saved my butt ALOT.
