While I don't think I would be using this list in any tournaments, I think that it might be fun to play around with in casual games with you friends.
1500-Point Warlock Army Concept
2 Farseers- 133 pts each (266 total)
- Spirit Stones
- Singing Spear
13 Guardians- 119 points
- Scatter Laser
13 Guardians- 109 points
- Shuriken Cannon
Transports + Other:
2x 10 Warlocks- 356 points per squad (712 total)
Each squad contains...
- 1 member with Embolden and Singing Spear
- 1 member with Enhance and Singing Spear
- 8 members with Destructor
2 Wave Serpents- 145 pts each (290 total)
- Twin-Linked Shuriken Cannons
- Vectored Engines
- Star Engines
- Spirit Stones
Total Points: 1496 (if you want you could bring an extra singing spear in one of the Warlock squads)
Notes: Each Farseer should be placed in a Warlock squad. Each Warlock squad takes a Wave Serpent as a dedicated transport. Use the two guardian squads to hold objectives. Send the Warlocks up to the enemy with your transports. Once close enough start shootng with Destructor while using Fortune on your two Warlock squads to give 4+ invulnerable save with rerolls - not too shabby - and Dooming the enemies you are shooting. Then you could assault if you were sure you could finish them off without taking damage. If you need to take out vehicles you can either throw singing spers or run, then go into assault with the vehicle. Note that you will, with a full squad, get 30 Str 9 attacks on them.
Also note that this list only uses 4 force organization slots!
So, in conclusion, I think this woud be quite a fun list to try out. Maybe use some proxy units since buying 20 warlocks isn't exactly cheap. It's something different and unique that may or may not work, I don't know, though I plan to test it in the future.
I'd try and find points to put Warlocks with the Guardians too.
Yeah, the thought crossed my mind, I just didn't feel it was reall necessary except maybe to give them the 5+ cover save from Conceal.
