(2x) 5x Flayed Ones 180

3x H. Destroyers - 195
Monolith - 235
Standard phalanx formation. Scarabs in front, flayed ones to the flank. Destroyers strike against weak points and enemy armor. Monolith supporting the phalanx. Suggestions are appreciated as any time i field my crons I loose at the end of turn two.
I'll say that you should drop the flayed ones for some more destroyers. Or drop the destroyers for some extra flayed ones. And drop the veil, it seems kind of pointless to me. You would be better off with some escort for your warriors, maybe a tomb spyder... I
I'll try to compose two lists for you.
1 Heavy D
2 Heavy Ds
9X3 flayed ones
2 pts left.
1 Heavy D
2 Heavy Ds
2 pts left
In both lists, you could drop some scarabs for spyders to protect your warriors.
Problem with those suggestions
I have a maximum of 40 warriors right now, 1 spider, 10 flayed ones, 10 immortals, 10 or 12 scarab bases, 5 pariahs, 3 wraiths, 5 destroyers and 3 H destroyers.
given with what you have available i would go for a strong typical phalanx list
something like this...
HQ: Necron Lord (w) Orb, GoF, Chrono - 165pts
Elites: 10 Immortals - 280pts
Troops: 10 Warriors - 180pts
10 Warriors - 180pts
10 Warrriors - 180pts
Fst Att: 5 Scarabs - 60pts
5 Scarabs - 60pts
5 Destroyers - 250pts
Hvy Spp: 3 HDestroyers - 195pts
Tomb Spyder - XXpts
Monolith - XXXpts
total come to 1840pts I have no clue wat to do for the last 10pts sry
There is no "I" in "team", there is an "I" in "pie" however, as in "Meat Pie" with "Meat" being an anogram of "Team".
Well maybe, the list isn't' what's not working out, but your tactics.
Don't put your flayed ones out in the open so much, they have move through cover, use it!
Make sure to pick your targets carefully with the scarabs, they can't take on just anything. Try to turbo boost them first turn, and get them into the soft shooty squads your opponent tries to hide in the back. If you infiltrate or outflank your flayed ones they could support in this role. Just remember neither scarabs or flayed ones are true frontline combat units.
Definately go pick up a sixth destroyer, 2x3 units of them are very much more effective than 1x5, it's something all Necron players will learn at some point.
Be careful with the VoD, you can save yourself some trouble by porting out of an assault, but at the same time you might just loose the whole squad early that way as well.
Other than those changes I think you could still very well make the list work. Just takes practice. What armies have been troubling you?
Marines, Guard, and Orks are the armies in vogue right now at my LGS. Marines because of a variety of reasons (go figure), guard because of battle cannons, basilisks, and otherwise superior range, and orks because, well because they are **family establishment** orks.
That and for some reason when ever I have a balistics skill of 4 and a 3+ armor I always roll 2's and ones. I swear to god my orks roll better in the shooting phase.
Heh, that can happen. My dice don't like weapons over S6 hitting anything ><.
Keep your res orb close for the IG, definitely saves you against those artillery shells. Charging scarabs and wraiths can bring some major hurt to IG troops and tanks alike. (grab a few d-fields on the scarabs if you need to)
Orks...dunno how to counter them really, I guess just more destroyers, and block combat (maybe a tomb spdyer or three?)
I can tell you for sure that tomb spyders are a quick fix to your daily space marine aches and pains. And Warrior squads can walk trade fire with tactical marines almost indefinitely.
The general consensus around my parts especially from some expert necron players is that spiders are worthless.
I also have 10 immortals lying around and im not sure how to use them either.
...my crons just seem to fail so damn hard....
Either you use your immortals in a phalanx, or you make a flying circus:
Spyders are great and if your opponent doesn't belive you, make him suffer
