I am planing to start an ork army in the near future (Probably in a month or so). This list which I have written is one that i am planing to field as it is the cheapest to buy. Fluff wise my army is a blood axe ork force. For my trucks I am going to be converting and making half tracks (like the ones from ww2) which are beaten up and orky (Im going to use the ork truck model as a base so that there are no issues). Also fluff wise im working on the character of my warboss but basically he favors ork boys with shootas because they are more uniform and regimental. He is trying to be sophisticated (for an ork) and sluggas and choppas are a little too barbaric!
Im just wondering if this list would be competitive and effective.
I took this guy to be a be strong in combat. The twin linked shoota fits his fluff and compliments the boyz mob he is joined to
Because KFFs are really really good and protecting my army from shooting
20 shoota boys
2 big shootas
nob w/ pk
16 shoota boys
1 big shoota
Two huge units who can pump out tons of shots each turn. In objective missions one unit will probably hang back a tad to secure any objectives in my own deployment zone.
10 shoot ard boyz boys
1 big shoota
nob w/ PK & BP
RPJ & RR
Warboss and mek go in the trukk with this unit, and they go capture objectives and in games this small they will be able do some significant damage. They have shootas because of the fluff and also they all get shoot twice then assault. Thats some kills without having to live through my opponents attacks first. Also they can do drive buys which are always fun!
Nob w/ BC
Because I'm buying the battle force so I'll have the models. I don't have a plan for these guys but at the moment im thinking of fire support and then if they are alive they can be knock out punch and tip the balance in an assault.
All up the army comes to 751pts. That extra one point over is annoying me I might get rid of the RPJ on the truck if anyone has an issue with it.
The warboss should really have a powerklaw. Big choppas are just as barbaric as regular choppas. Besides, the model has it. Also if he is going to be with boys he dosent really need the EA. The KFF is not needed in such a low points army. It would be different in an all walker or all mech. The nobs should carry bosspoles to reroll their low leadership. Otherwise the list looks good. If you get the AoBR set you can use the defkoptas and bring an orky blitzkrieg. Just something to think about.
first, dont worry about the 1 point and also my friend plays orks and you need atleast one squad of nobs just for the extra support. also, always keep the nobs around your warboss to back him up incase you run into trouble, especially fighting marines or necrons.
