    500 pts vs SM

    Hi!

I'm going to play 500 pts against space marines, and I need help to build a list.
I've tried to make one myself:

    HQ: 107 pts
Shas'el: Fusion blaster, plasma rifle, targeting array, stimulant injector, HW multi-tracker.

    Elite: 104 pts
    1) Battlesuit: Twin plasma rifle, blacksun filter.
    2) Battlesuit: Twin Missilepod, blacksun filter.

    Troop: 154 pts
    6 fire warriors.
    10 kroots + 4 hounds.

    Heavy support: 135 pts
Hammerhead: Ion cannon, burst cannons, multi-tracker, disruption pod, decoy launchers.

    = 500 pts

I would really like feedback and suggestions.

your hq could be good although is only really effective in 12" , and with ni=o markerlights he is your only BS2 model, so i would swap the fusion with a missle pod, and the stims at 500pts is to costly so dont take it. i like your twin linked missle pod and blacksun filter is good altough have you thought about swapping it for a flamer? also your paing ** pts for 1 twinlinked plasma shot, again to costly for the overall outome. if it was my list i would either have another deathrain with flamer or plasma missle pod.
here is a list i just threw up matching yours pretty closely
shas'el, plasma rifle, missle pod, targeting array, hard-wired multitracker 97pts
1 xv8, twin linked missle pod, flamer 49pts
    10 fire warriors, shas'ui, bonded 115pts
    10 kroot 70pts
1 hammerhead, railgun, burst cannons, multi-tracker, disruption pods 165pts
    army total 496pts

Going to agree, with Starfire. Your force is good, but some elements are better off used in larger point games.

I also like the list he included.

Okay. I've made a new one:

Shas'el: Plasma rifle, missile pod, targeting array, HW multi-tracker = 97 pts

Battlesuit: Plasma rifle, missile pod, multi-tracker = 62 pts

Battlesuit: Twin flamer, blacksun filter = 34 pts

    7 fire warriors = 70 pts

    10 kroots = 70 pts

Hammerhead: Railgun, burst cannons, disruption pod, multi-tracker = 165 pts

    = 498 pts

But i was wondering, why not an ion cannon? He can't have that many tanks in 500 pts.

S6 AP4 large blast template that can move 12" and fire 72", plus the S10 AP1 solid shot is good for the occasional A13+ vehicles or insta killing HQ's, where as the ion cannon can only glance A13, and can only kill 3 models a turn max, more than likely less, statistically you will kill more people with the railgun than the ion csnnon

also you really should have a missle pod on that flamer as this makes the unit able to fire at all ranges instead of just 9", hope this helps

Hmm.....I think I got it now:

Shas'el: Plasma rifle, missile pod, targeting array, HW multi-tracker = 97 pts

Battle suit: Plasma rifle, missile pod, multi-tracker = 62 pts

Battlesuit: Flamer, missile pod, multi-tracker = 42 pts

    6 Fire warriors = 60 pts

    10 kroot = 70 pts

Hammerhead: Railgun, burst cannons, disruption pod, multi-tracker = 165 pts

    = 500 pts

Looks good, but I'm not too keen on the 6 FWs. In my 500pt force, I have 10.

    1. I'd take out your second PR/MP crisis ( not shas'el ).

    2. Give your flamer crisis ( "Torch" ) a second flamer so its TL'ed.

This should give you points for more FW/Kroot to taste.

Just my opinions, folks. How would listen to a woman who names fer teams after NCIS characters?

I noticed there's no multi-tracker on your flamer suit, or was this done on purpose?

Yes it's on purpose. I think its better to re-roll the wound on the flamer, rather than fire 2 more shots.
