    First Necron 2000points army list

    Hi all,

I would like your comments on my first necron army list.
It is designed to be an all-comers list and with lots of necron special rule units and a monolith I should be quite portable on the field.

A variation on this I thought of is to delete the second necron lord and bump up the destroyer units to 4 each and warriors to 16 each.

    Many thanks in advance.

    1 Necron Lord (HQ) @ 200 Pts
    Staff of Light
    Resurrection Orb
    Phylactery
    Phase Shifter
    Gaze of Flame

    1 Necron Lord (HQ) @ 185 Pts
    Staff of Light
    Destroyer Body
    Resurrection Orb
    Phylactery

    Gauss Blaster

    10 Flayed Ones (Elites) @ 210 Pts
    Claws; Disruption Field

    14 Warriors (Troops) @ 252 Pts

its a very solid and impressive list, the only thing you should change is turn the 14 warrior squads into 10, and take the new points from the 8 warriors that you dropped and put them into more immortals

Heya Superlocrian, welcome to LO, and to the Necron Tomb.

*Pulls out his straight razor* Time for a trim up

Swap the phylacterys off both of your lords, use the points go get a lightening field on the Destroyer Lord so he can go vagabond with your scarabs on anti-vehicle killing sprees. A warscythe wouldn't hurt either. The foot lord shouldn't need a phase shifter either, res orb/gaze should be plenty.

More warriors, you should really have 4 squads of them in 2k (1 squad / 500pts rule) squad size of 10 works fine, I'd say drop the 8 extra, and two flayed ones to fit in a third squad for starters.

In higher points it's more useful to have larger squads of a few good things than many squads of lots of things. Try to focus what you want a little more. Like jumping your destroyers up to squads of 4.

Take the gun off your tomb spyders, it's unfortunately ineffective. the extra claw attack is much more fun to have around (at least in my experience...maybe I should try them with gun again)

I might drop the immortals as well, 5 isn't going to get you very far and you could use the points elsewhere (like on warriors >>)

Cheers for the welcome and help. I will try dropping the immortals for 3 squads of warriors. Don't want 4 as I want to keep the flayers there. (Want to see some cc!) See how that goes.
And will try the more immortals approach!

Been out of the hobby pretty much since 2002 from when I was a 'nids player. 5th edition seems quite different! Thankfully 7th edition fantasy isn't too different... Using empire there.

I would drop the eight warriors and get more immortals (like you said try the more immortals approach) then when you'v done that try getting another tomb spyder.
