I'm interested in trying out a wraith-based list, I'm not too sure about any details, as before now I've focused on shooty lists.
I'll probably be playing against friendly IGs (no LR spam) but slight possibility of a balanced space marine list.
My first attempt at a Wraithwing list (probably sucky) is as follows:
WraithLord (D.Body, Warscythe, Phase shifter, Orb)
I was thinking about finding room for some H.Dests, in my last game with the IG player, he took 5 Chimeras, a Hellhound, and a Valkyrie. I had real problems doing any damage to him (luckily it was an annihilation, and IGs always loose in Kill points)
Tactics: Probably going to run it as if it was 2 armies, standard phalanx with the boring lord, warriors, 'lith, goes up the middle, taking the objectives.
Wraith horde with the decked-out WraithLord sweeps up the side and takes out the squishy/dangerous units.
Is this too inflexible? I'm willing to change almost anything, except, I don't have a C'tan, and don't want to run another shooty destroyer-based list.
too tell you the truth i cant find nothing wrong with it. so its gonna come down to how well you play them and how your dice roll! That looks like a fun list, the only thing i can think to add is a lightning field for revenge if you get damaged but you cant .

Rats, I was really hoping somebody was going to say "take less wraiths" or something, now I have to go buy another 5 Oh well, they're awesome looking, so it's worth it
If you want to save on money, you can convert warriors to wraiths, there a tutorial somewhere on the internets.
Still, I don't like wraiths versus SMs.
Necron Army Building Maxima: Beware of Phase Out
Maybe drop the monolith for a small squad of pariahs or for more wraiths, but thats just a option.
My Tomb Kings Project
Pariahs will be dead before they get anywhere, and unless I use planetstrike Force Org charts, I can't take any more wraiths... actually that's a good idea, I'm gonna go make a Planetstrike list now...
The problem with fielding 9 wraiths is that you can't hide them and keep them supported by the lord at the same time. As wraiths are easily killed by massed small arms fire when in orb range and Big (barrage) cannons when without orb range. And as wraiths are phsycoticly hard to hide behind terrain, you pretty much need big LOS blocking terrain.
I feel like wraiths are pretty eldar...
(Proxy two-three times with scarabs to find out if you really like them...)
well the wraiths are gonna need to get locked into cc fast avoid being shot to pieces. Thats the best cover you can get.

Good point vissking, I never thought about how large that unit was getting, makes LOS blocking much harder (and they already have a save better than just about all cover, so that doesn't help.
I guess what I`m really asking is, is this the best way of doing a wraithwing (3x3+tooled lord)?
