    I need help upgarding to 1850!

    Ok, so here's the situation, there's a tournament coming up in about 3 weeks that's at 1850 points, my list is only 1750 points, and as we all know, Eldar tend to jump up in increments of roughly 250 points (transport + squad). So I need all of your help in changing this list to a higher points value.

    So you're asking what to spend 100 points on, right?

    I think I would figure a way to get 5 pathfinders, I'm a big fan of them. 4 is about 100, so you need to find 20 something more points. those runes from the seer, I dunno..the dual death spinners, a banshee, not sure.

    your force is so mobile I feel like they'd be more safe, offer some good tactical use, offer some long range pinning and compliment the attack on the doomed unit each turn.


    If not, just fill out the dragon squad for maximum pop and get SS+guide for the avenger riding doomseer

    I was thinking about the Pathfinders, but since I often put my entire army in reserves, they would literally be the only target on the board until turn 2, and quite frankly that's a really bad idea, even with a 2+ save. At this point I'm honestly tempted to swap the Farseer for Eldrad, I get the two different runes, all the powers, and most importantly, I can cast Doom twice. Along with that, if the situation looks good, if I'm forced to take turn one, I can deploy my whole army since the benefit of last turn objective rushing is lost, I can deploy a feint and redeploy it using Divination. The list would come out to 1850 even.

    the Pathfinders can use the outflank move onto board edges when kept in reserve

    that would allow for even more mobility in your army and give you another unit to capture objectives

    Was going to say drop a few upgrades and get a 3rd prism until I saw the list of models. Eldrad would be a nice upgrade or you could add spirit stones and a second power to the current farseer and use the remaining points on more firedragons. I've never thought I had to many fusion guns. Perhaps upgrading some of the waveserpent weapons to eml or brightlance to give you ranged tank busting could be looked at.

    Yeah, I'd throw a couple of EMLs on a pair of Wave Serpents. BLs would pigeonhole them, when there's already an abundance of Anti-Tank, and give you some nice variety. Nothing brings a smile to my face more like popping plasma missiles on Firewarriors after popping their transport.

    I would upgrade those scatters to either EML or BL. If you want to keep scatters i would rather take a shuriken cannon. Better ap. 1 less shot, less range, but less points.

    I wouldnt take any more units because you have alot of KP as it is.

    At this point level I dont feel it would be foolish to get an exarch w upgrades for the dragons.

    Well, the reason I run Scatter Lasers is I want to be able to destroy side armor 10 vehicles like Chimeras (which there is a Steel Legion player in our gaming group that runs like 6 Chimeras) and Ork Buggies. Anyways, aside from just replacing my Farseer with Eldrad, here's my alternate 1850 list I came up with:

    The biggest issue I have with this list is the lack of troop choices. With the high likelihood of objective based missions in 5th ed, you really need 3 troops in 1500, and 4 at 2000, so at 1850 you can go either way, but 2 mostly doesn't cut it.

    I'm not a huge fan of Banshees, yeah they look nice on paper, but after they jump out of the transport and charge, they will most likely get shot to pieces, meaning they will almost never make their points back. Instead, you could take 2 units of 5 Dragons, in seperate Serpents. This would free up a fair few points and give you the anti tank that IMO you are lacking quite badly (6 chimeras, nothing to kill them atm)

    With the spare points you made plus the 100pts you had spare you could add Pathfinders or even jetbikes to your first list, or if you really don't want Pathfinders and you don't mind having 2 troops, you could add a 3rd Prism (I know you don't have the model, but its worth it believe me)
