    2000 points of greater goodness

SO i have an upcomming game of 2000 vs. Necrons... its a friendly game, but a game i'd like to win none the less. SO i have 2 variants i'd like to try. keeping in mind this is mostly kitted out for MEQ, not nessisarily an all comers list, thought i think it could have some success there as well.

    HQ: 199
    Shas'El - 102
Plasma, Fusion blaster, Targeting array, HW multi tracker, HW target lock
Bodyguard - plasma rifle, fusion blaster, targetting array, hard-wired multi-tracker, shield drone 97

    Troops - 854
    10 Firewarriors - 210 Points

    Elites 404
    Deathrain squad - 116pts
1 x team leader with twin linked Missile Pod, Targeting array, HW Target lock
1 X XV8 with twin linked Missile Pod, Targeting array

    3 Broadsides- 279
    - advanced stabilisation systems, team leader w/ 2 shield drones, Target lock

    1996

So in this version I took the Ion Heads, mostly for the AP 3 Heavy 3 they fly around poping warrior squads, or destroyers. My hq is not a suicide squad it fly's around and delivers AP 1 shots as needed along with the fire knives. I rely on my broadsides to take out the 2 monoliths I am sure i will see.

This list folows the principle more shots = more saves... SO submunition and deathrains... might go with burst cannons and missile pods but i do like the ap 1 shot. again mobile fire warriors for objective taking, and rendering his veil lord mostly useless... hopefully. 2 squads of EL's with fusions to give more punch to my suits.

C&C welcome. I havent run a 2000 point Tau before, so please advice would be nice.

I'm thinking that you don't need ten Fire Warriors in each squad. If you just keep them in the 'Fish the whole time, they should be completely safe. with the points you save, you could get a nice sized Kroot squad with lots-o-hounds, or get another Fireknife or so.

I don't know when you'll need a Target Lock... but these are going to be good for those Destroyers.

Heh, I havn't run anything hat high either. ^^ I think as long as you run the normal anti-Necron tactics you should be fine.

Good luck and may the Greater Good guide your rolls.
