Welcome to Librarium Online!
Good Afternoon folks,
I have recently re entered the world of 40k after a long(7yr) absence. As you can imagine much has changed. I am still geting to grips with the finer points of the rules, but that is neither here, nor there.
I am going to post what I believe to be a reasonably competitive flexible army list (1500pt). Its a little on the shooty side maybe, but I fell that is the way to go with the Elday. All feedback is welcome and appreciated. Thank you for your time.
1. Farseer, S. Stones, Fortune, Guide :125pt
2. Farseer, Doom :80pt
1. 10 Dire Avenger, Exarch, Blade Storm Twin Shur-Cats : 145pt
2. 12 Man Guardian, Warlock, S.Seer, Embolden, ScatterLaser : 147pt
1. 10 Woman Banshee, Exarch, Mirror Swords : 182pt
2. 5 Man Fire Dragon, Exarch : 92pt
1. Wraithlord, W.Sword, BL : 140pt
2. Wraithlord, W.Sword, BL : 140pt
3. 5 Dark Reapers, Exarch, Tempest, Fast Shot :227
1. W. Serpent, Shuriken Cannons, S. Stones
2. W. Serpent, Shuriken Cannons, S. Stones
I am unsure which units to use the Wave Serpents with but the fire dragons are prob a must, I have also heard some interesting thoughts on using the DAs with them in sort of hit and run attacks. But I would most likely use the second Wave Serpent for the Banshees and DoomSeer.
Comments and advice are welcome
Thank you for your time.
Think about possibly changing the list to save points for another wave serpent. Because you have 3 units that really need them, dire avengers, banshees, and firedragons all work best when transported. Off hand I would look at dropping the reapers, guessing this is what the guide was for also so could change that farseer or remove it to save more points. Perhaps just changing the reapers for a falcon with holofields for the firedragons would work also. Troops are very important now so 2 seems a bit light at 1500.
Recap I would recommend dropping the reapers, picking up a falcon or serpent for the firedragons. Review if the guide seer is still wanted and spend the rest of the points on a third troop. Pathfinders in cover are a common choice, jetbikes work alright or if you have enough points dire avengers or storm guardians in a waveserpent.
Almost forgot welcome back to 40k
Thanks man it's good to be back.
I ve had similar comments from others I ve shown. The key one being 'too light on troops' Im working on a re-do now. Just out of interest If the reapers go do you think that this list will struggle against MEQs??
Regardless Ill be firing up a second attempt tomorrow.
thats my favourite type of list i used to take mounted dragons banshees and avengers and let the opponent guess which ones which was always fun.. if people let u use eldrad he can do what those two farseers are doing on his own for 210 with a couple of nice extras, yeah other than that mount all three in serpents or falcon, this list is no where near cheese and will be fun and competitve and honestly is nearly identicle to the list i used to take against mates that included a eldar tau necron and space marine armies and was always respectable, one last note if you take defender instead of storm guardians make sure they have a scatter laser of shuri cannon weapon platform as you need all the shots you can get with thier low BS, personally i like it so id drop a wraithlord for a serpent, keep the guardians in reserve pick them up later for an objetive grab.. games can be won with the bear minimum troops choices!! plus playing a biel-tan type list you want as many aspect warriors as you can muster

If You want to keep that list, with the farseers, I would swap the Doom with Guide.
That way if you Put the guide seer w/ the DA's, because fortune helps the 4+ save of the Banshees, and Guide doesnt really help banshees, while Doom makes up for Str 3 Attacks.
When faced by an army of awesomness, RUN.
Adding Rep is always nice for everyone!
