So I'm playing a tie breaker match on Monday against a Space Ork player. We both tied in first place in the tournament and ow it's time to decide who picked the superior race... Go Pointy Ears! Death to the Mushrooms!
Anyway, I know it isn't the perfect 1500 list, and I know I'm missing quite a few things. But I'm trying to work with what I have.

So, the Guardian Serpent will unload the Guardians and pick up the Harleys (at least that is my plan). This will give me some nice CC mobility and hitting power. I have a bunch of missile launchers that I hope will take out his transport and Deff Dread to let my other units work. And I'm borrowing some Spiders to see if I can make use of them (I haven't had much luck before).
Other units I own that I can field instead are: A Farseer, some Warlocks, 6 Fire Dragons, a few more Harleys with fusions pistols & kisses & Shadowseers & Troupe masters (Can pretty much field 2 full squads of these, one with kisses one without), 6 Dark Reapers, 10 Guardians with any HWP, a full squad of Banshees. 5 Wraithguard and Maugan Ra.
I think that I've avoided the worst choices against the Orks of what I have to use.
The Ork player will be fielding: 1 Deff Dred, 1 Killa Can, 3 Meganobs with Warboss in Mega Armour in some form of open topped transport (dunno what it's called), 3 Deffkoptas, a squad of Burna Boys, 1-3 Grot heavy weapons teams and a huge tide of Boys (mostly sluggaz), and a WierdBoy as well. What he lacks is mobility, so I'm hoping to take advantage of that with my Serpents, Falcon and Spiders.
I'm not really sure where to put Eldrad though, he would be nice using Guide on my Falcon, but it would also be nice with Fortune on the Scorps. On the other hand I was hoping to be able to snipe out some nobs from his Boys, or possibly his HQ. I know Mind War isn't the best thing out there, but I'd like to try it if I get a nice chance. Then Doom is always nice... etc... Other things I can do is drop my Guardian Serpent, bring in another group of Guardians with HWP and get a Shadowseer for my Harleys. Also I'm not sure about my Falcon with Starcannon, it will pretty much only be good against his MegaNobs, but it should do well against Deffkoptas too, and I'm hoping that's enough. My plan is to use massive EML fire to quickly drop his transport so my Falcon can pick off his MegaNobs. Then just use speed to my advantage to weaken him enough for my two CC units to roll in and smash him good.
Any comments or suggestions?
id almost drop the falcon for 3 war walkers with scatter lazers. That will make short work of big groups of orkz, and transports etc.

But that is just me, where i never leave home without my 3 war walkers. The amount of shots and the str of the shots makes them worth every point.
24 shots str 6.... That is alot of dead orkz.
If I had any Walkers I would certainly bring them, the same goes for Fire Prisms. But I don't own any, and I don't plan on buying anything before Monday. You can clearly see what options I have available to me for switching out the units I've taken (second section after the list).
But I don't believe I have a lot of viable choices at this point. The things that are the most questionable are the Harleys and my choice of getting a Serpent for my Guardians to use for my Harleys. I think it might be better just giving them a Shadowseer and bringing another group of Guardians. Also I'm unsure of my Falcons equipment.
Hehe, in friendly games i proxy stuff that i wanted to try. I have been known for having candles being my space marine drop pods lol. mainly because i wanted to try them before i bought them.
I don't want to proxy too much. Right now I'm proxying some gear, but I don't really want to go beyond that. But War Walkers are on my future purchasing list, just as Vypers, even though Vypers aren't that good, but the models are nice and I don't think I'll ever have my Fast Attack choices filled anyway.
So, I played my match last night. It ended in a draw.
I got real unlucky at the start, he took the initiative, and even with Divination I was a bit out of shape. All of his units were deployed on one flank in a giant pile of green death. Anyway, he shot at my serpent with the Scorpions in it with his Deffkoptas, two penetrating hits, and my Serpent blew up 'splody style. A few Scorpions died from the blast, and they broke and ran, and made it off the board... Not really the start I was hoping for.
The first thing that happened in my turn was that Eldrad suffered a perils of the warp and took a wound. After this I did a little better, and at one point I looked like I had a chance of winning since I was the only one with troops left, but sadly in my turn his nobz group broke and ran (annoyingly in the direction of my Guardians), and is his turn they regrouped and assaulted my last chance to win.
I was quite happy with how the Warp Spiders performed, they killed a Killa Can, about 20 boys with Wierdboy, and 10 Shootaboyz. My Falcon knocked out his Meganobz, almost killing as many points as it cost me.
Everything else was a great disappointment, my Guardians, Eldrad, my Scorps and my Harleys did nothing really.
I wasn't expecting 2 Killa Cans, and I had a lot of problems taking them, the Dred and the Deffkoptas down. Also, I had little luck taking out his big group of Nobz, two wounds and 4+ save and feel no pain isn't nice. They were in cover until they were close enough to assault and after that there was no stopping them.
I think I would have done better with another group of Guardians with EML. Also, considering my limited amount of nice shooty things I might have had use for the Shuricannon upgrade om my Falcon and Serpent. Also I think I sould have given my Falcon either a EML or a shuricannon as its secondary weapon instead of the Starcannon, even though ap2 was quite nice, but two shots is just to little with BS 3. I could just as well have skipped the Harleys to get the points for those upgrades. Also I think a 3 man squad of reapers with Exarch, EML and Fast Shot. That would give me some more anti-walker. Also I believe that using 2 regular Farseers instead of Eldrad would have been better. Mind War did nothing as usual, Eldrich Storm was ok, Fortune didn't do much good once my Scorps were dead, Doom could have been good if my dice hadn't sucked, I used it with Guide on a full group of my Guardians against his Nobz, and only got like 2 wounds in. Guide didn't do much good either. I think two Farseers with Doom, Stones and E. Storm would have been a lot better, possibly having one with Runes of Warding to mess with his Wierdboy.
How did the scorpions not rally? Were they under half or something?
I would infiltrate them anyways, and drop the harlies for banshees with eldrad. That would make short work of the nobz. No armor saves, and no feel no pain for those attacks. Then you could also move the wave serpent to the banshees.
Also if he piles in one corner you just pile into the other, being an ork he has to come to you no matter what. Just keep shooting until he is there to charge.
They didn't get a chance to rally, they broke from the wounds of the exploding Serpent, and ran off the table (lucky 6's).
Yeah, Banshees might be nice actually, although he still has 2 wounds per model and toughness 4. Infiltration might have been good for them, but I don't like having them out in the open where they can be assaulted/shot at.
I probably should have moved to the other corner like you said. My first reaction was to place as much as possible on his side to counter him, I guess I'm just too aggressive that way.
I still feel quite hindered by not having Prisms or Walkers, I think that would have helped a lot. Sadly I don't own any, but I'm working on converting my Falcon to a Prism.

Im pretty sure dedicated transports can only transport the unit they've been assigned to.
Other than that im against mixing transports with troops, Banshees work better with Eldrad because Harlies lose their specials aside from Veil of Tears. I'd give the transport to the Harlies/Banshees w/ Eldrad instead of your one unit of guardians next time. Drop the Spiders and bring in 2 naked Prisms- Focused Dispersed blasts are insane against large mobs of Boyz.
