Let me know what you think of this list. It's for a big tourney here in australia, and I'm trying to get max comp points (hence WWP and slightly different wych/warrior squads). If i could upgrade the talos to make them slightly different, i would.
Im fairly comfortable with the list, but I'm sure that'll improve as I practise some more. at the moment i run the three raiders in the WWp and the talos providing cover and "SHOOT ME - not the portal carrier" protection.
Let me know what you think:
133 - Archon: Shadowfield, Drugs, Pistol, Plasma, Agoniser
83 – Dracon: Drugs, Pistol, Plasme, Agoniser
175 – Incubi Retinue x 7
55 – Raider
136 – Wyches x 7, Wych weapons, 2x Blasters, Succubus with Goblet of spite, Agoniser & Plasma
55 – Raider
131 – Wyches x 7, Wych weapons, 2x Blasters, Succubus with agoniser & Plasma
55 – Raider
266 – Warriors x 20, 2 x dark lances, 2x blasters, Sybarite with Agoniser, Webway portal
251 – Warriors x 20, 2 x dark lances, 2x blasters, Sybarite with poisoned blades, Webway portal
110 – Warriors x 10, 2 x dark lances, 2x blasters
100 - Talos
100 - Talos
100 - Talos
so there you go... i've run raider spam to little effect, so i thought i'd try my hand at something new... I'm going to stick with it (or slight modifications) but any suggestions would be great!
Looks good to me as far as WWP lists go. Good job giving two big squads them. I might drop 1 Talos for some of those Warp Beasts, they're so cheap and basically a missile, they'll kill a unit and die. Talos are a bit slow and two is plenty or scary.
I'd like to know how this list fares, WWP is a very fun looking army.
I would consider giving at least one of the WWP carrier squads Splinter cannons instead of DLs as they will be advancing to place the WWP.
As for anything else...good luck with WWP in 5th ed.
Yeah be sure to mock your opponents when you win, WWP took a big hit in 5th Ed. I wouldn't feel bad about it. :]
I think you have a fairly healthy perception on the list – all your selections are good “as-is” so not much to add other than making a less than minor suggestion to them.I too would put a trophy rack on the Dracon (I like the 3+ save but even that will dwindle in a normal fight). The squad is on the larger side but if you can afford it then great – otherwise drop these guys if you need the points. I will strongly suggest that you take plasma grenades for all of them especially if you do not have a horrorfex on the raider. Even with plasma, I would suggest a horrorfex just in case you fall short on a charge or if you do not want any enemy counter-chargers crashing your party.83 – Dracon: Drugs, Pistol, Plasma, Agoniser, Incubi Retinue x 7, RaiderNice. I like horrorfexs again but not really necessary. You could drop these down to 6 total if you need the points however they would have to work in tandem with the other wych squad. I no longer run these wyches separately as they tend to stall on their own.Wyches x 7, Wych weapons, 2x Blasters, Succubus with Goblet of spite, Agoniser & Plasma, RaiderI tried for a long time to make a squad of 16 warriors with a WWP to work but the enemy always found a way to see them and wipe them out on the first turn. Being a scoring unit, being T3, Ldr 8, and very hard to hide is their downfall. If you put all 3 Talos on the board and shield them (babysit them) you might get the wwp off on the first turn – I am not so sure on the 2nd. Why? Because when I face off against an experienced player he knows the Talos is no threat until it’s 12” away – no real reason to shoot at it 24” away. Let’s see, if I destroy the 2 troop choices with the wwp then the rest of the army won’t come in? And you will only have 1 scoring unit left? I think most people will agree that Incubi, 2 HQ’s and 2 Wych squads are > 3 Talos and 3 warrior squads.Warriors x 20, 2 x dark lances, 2x blasters, Sybarite with Agoniser, Webway portal
My only suggestion would be for the squad is dropping the agoniser as these units usually get shot up early and never see close combat.Fine.Warriors x 20, 2 x dark lances, 2x blasters, Sybarite with poisoned blades, Webway portalI would drop 2 Incubi and 2 wyches and add a sybarite with poisonblades and a 3rd Webway portal. I really think you are going to need it even if it means weakening the portal units – what good are they if the wwp are destroyed?110 – Warriors x 10, 2 x dark lances, 2x blastersI really like the idea of 3 Talos though, I want you to keep them.Talos
How about this, for your consideration:
Put all 3 Talos in the portal (still playing with 2 wwp). Everything else starts on the board. Now, the opponent will have to choose between the warriors or the rapidly advancing HQ/incubi/wych squads – either choice he makes can potentially lose him the game (I know it would be a hard decision for me but I think I would be trying to stop the incubi and wyches first, preserving your scoring units and Talos fun.
Drop the incubi and wyches in order to get nightshields for all your raiders.
Use the mounted raiders as bright shiny objects to draw fire, face it, the troop choices have to survive in order to win unless all your games are going to be “annihilation”. If you are going to play an annihilation you can always change up who goes into the portal but I would seriously consider making sure 75% of your army is on the table.
Just some ideas for you to play with.

Thanks for the Ideas guys... rep all round
Depending on deployment and opponent, I may not even utilise the portals... they are there as a backup measure, and a good way for the few raiders i have, to not get shot down as quickly...
I generally detach the archon fairly quickly, so i can 12" assault into their lines... i find he is quite good at providing a distraction, so I don't think that the trophy rack will have a huge impact on the game... it is something to think about though.
I agree that the portal squads almost always get shot up early, but i'm hoping that running talos (i was running 3 ravagers) will limit the fire they receive... here's hoping...
I'll let you know how it goes.
Oops, Sorry, Double post...
Ok, so i tested this against a friend who plays orks...
Orks are not good for us (read:me) at the best of times...
I still have no idea how to beat them...
so three talos were in combat on turn two, and they scored exactly 3 hits, and 2 wounds...
before they were all dead.
i'm seriously thinking about removing one talos and an incubi for a Dissie ravager...
What do you all think?
Comp is an issue as well i believe.
I've been told that if i have 3 Talos, I'll get max three...
I was hoping to get 4 at least...
It is all panel comp prior to the tourney, so i'm looking at it from that side as well.
Any ideas? or should I just leave it like it is.
As silly as it sounds i see orks as an auto-lose for me at the moment.
Thanks for the input

I'd drop the Incubi for sure. A Ravager with Dissies or two would really help you out against hordes and even MEQ, just awesome covering fire while you get the Portals down.
I still think some Warp Beasts would be a good idea. Those could have charged a big Ork unit and hurt it really bad for almost no points.
Talos seem better as a one off to throw into a troublesome unit. They don't break things by themselves, especially not 20-30 Boyz w/ a PK.
How is it better? Your 5+ save T3 Troops can be seen almost no matter what, go go true LoS. An IG army can shred your Portal carriers before Turn 2 on a lot of tables. If you use exclusively city terrain it's about the same as 4th but in no way better.
Explain, I wish to learn.
