So iv got a tournament coming up, I will be playing against competitive people and think its about time i give them a run for their money. so iv got two 1500 lists that i have refined and i'm looking for help on improving them. Ill be playing everything from dark eldar, tau, necrons, chaos marines, maybe demons, space marines, imperial gaurd (tank army) and orcs, there might be more but im not considering the people that wont be playing at a competitive level or just don't have the experience! We will be playing three games total, two objective and one straight kill game. The unfortunate part of these lists is that i cant play any practice games with them, no one i play with has ever heard of this list before and i don't want to divulge any secrets to them that could put me at a disadvantage.
X34 (2 groups of 5, 4 groups of 6)
Total 1481 Points, iv got a couple points to spare i like to be as close to 1500 as possible but dont know where to put them
The Idea of this list is to Outflank the stealers and deepstrike the lictors, The idea of the carnifexes and the hive tyrant is to prevent the opponent from herding their units, the blast templates would be devastating against anyone that would do so, 4 strength 8 large pinning templates and 2 strength 6 large pinning templates each turn i think would prove effective against both vehicles and mass units. Genestealers are deadly in combat and for the most part can hold their own, i think for what i get a 27 points each they are a steal. In theory this list should be quite good based on odds and how it runs but iv never actually used the list so im not sure.
The Idea behind this army is mass troops and outflank, I would give up first turn... EVERY one i play with always takes first turn, so i would be off the board for two of their turns basically giving them nothing but random directions to walk in, in objective missions unless they are better in combat then me the most they will do is contest objectives and in strait kill i believe that i would walk out on top, the re roll for reserves from the lictors is GODLIKE for this list and they fair well against vehicles, the only thing i would be worried about with this list is the wound allocation, so against units like terminators and stuff if i dont roll well for the rending combat might take longer then I would like. I dont put the brood lord with a unit because the genestealers dont benefit from the Fleet rule if they are with a brood lord and with this list the possible 6 inch a turn for one unit could kill me.
Any thoughts, ideas, complements or advice would be Great from anyone! Enjoy

Here is a quick thought on the list. First off i know you wanta throw around alota barbstrangler templates. Im sure you probally know this but having two stranglers on a tyrant or carnifex doesnt give you two shots... it only gives you one twin linked shot. to do more damage you might wanta go barb/venom. Twin linked is alota points for not that much return two different weapons often are better points wise.
But if you want the two stranglers doesnt a twin linked template weapon let you reroll the scatter die and 2d6, so i was thinking the enahanced senses on the tyrant and fex are kinda of a waste its only one inch and if you miss your going to be rerolling the whole thing anyway. its only a few points but might be able to be spent else where.
Also on a side note i have wanted to ask this question before but isnt a broodlord REQUIRED to take some amount of genes as a reune? (a minimum of like 5 i forget)

I didnt even notice the brood lord requirements, in that case i would just keep the same list and dump 5 genestealers into the brood. as for the Barb stranglers i wasnt aware that you were only allowed one shot per model it says for the units like warriors that if they have more then one ranged weapon the only may fire one per turn so i assumed that if a carnifex or a tyrant had two of the same one they could fire both because it doesn't say anything about restrictions, ill look into it more just incase. a reroll isn't my idea of points well spent so if this is the case then i would probably do twin linked deathspitters on both carnifexs and the tyrant. I wasn't aware that i wasnt allowed to have the points posted so they have been removed.
SO with a change in points and relocating them the first list Tyrand and carnifexs would look something like this
-Twin Linked deathspitters
-Twin linked Deathspitters
With the change it would leave me with 29 points left over so i would add a final genestealer and have 5 groups of 7
Although i would also like to fire two venom cannons on a tyrant 6 shots of str 8 or two barbstrangler shots of str 8 on a fex. Buying two of the same weapon instead twin links them only giveing you 3 twin linked venom cannon shots on the tyrant and 1 twin linked barbstrangler shot on the fex. But if you take two different weapons (ex: venom cannon + barb strangler) you can fire them both.. although i think it has to be at the same unit.
so in reality taking two venom or barb stranglers isn't really worth the point cost for what you get. So what would be a good alternative to the herding units for when i outflank the genestealers? it doesnt need to be blast templates but i thought that would be a cheap effective way. If anyone has ideas or thoughts please let me know!
