Ok, this is my first list for Tau and Warhammer in general. In reading up on a number of other lists I think I've gotten the basics done i.e. Many XV8 Fireknives and Shas El with TA over a Shas O' etc. That said im sure the list has a bunch of problems with it. I'm not restricted by the single battle force and I think I will be playing a wide variety of enemy forces. Friends who play Space Wolves, Orks, Marines, Imperial Gaurd, and Eldar so there doesn't seem to be a standard horde/meq hate way I can go with it.
Anyhow, on with the list.
with PR, MP, TA, HWMT
3 x XV8 Crisis Suit
with PR, MP, MT
11 x Fire Warriors
10 x Kroot
with 6 x Kroot Hounds
Any suggestions would be really helpful. I was also thinking of running another 10 Fire Warriors instead of the Kroot and just do a shooty thing.
Thanks a lot
The Kroot are fine, you will need them to run interference as they are the only unit that has decent CC capabilities.
Overall, the list looks ok for 500pts. When you upgrade to 1000pts the first thing you should get should be a Devilfish as Fire Warriors will depend on it to survive and to grab objectives.
Ok, sounds good. Out of curiosity, running interference with the kroot is just pushing them upfield into cover to help direct the enemy where I want them by threatening CC and shooting when I'm not correct?
I just made a 500 pt army myself. We are very similar in construction though I dropped some Fire Warriors ( I have 8 ) 2 kroot hounds and one Crisis Suit so that I might add a Devilfish. I would assume the 3 Missle Pods your Crisis Suits have would fare well at destroying any other transport armor on the field.
Plus at 500 pts the devilfish could be a force to be reckoned with because other armies will have a lack of Anti-Vehicle attacks.
