    1k Point list

Hi guys, I'm pretty new to Necrons, and 40k in general, and I've decided to see if this list is any good.

    HQ:
Necron Lord + Res orb - 140 points
    Elites:
    5x Immortals - 140 points
    Troops:
    10x Necron Warriors - 180 points
    10x Necron Warriors - 180 points
    Fast Attack:
    3x Destroyers - 150 points
    3x Destroyers - 150 points
    Heavy Support:
    1x Tomb Spyder - 55 points
    Total points=
    995

    So, any ideas for improvement?

Seems all right. I think you should either discard the immortals or get another squad of them for survivability. But that's about it.

So what would you recommend I replace the immortals with?

Honestly at 1k, 5 immortals are pretty ridiculously tough, especially if they're escorting an orblord around. I think this is a great list, best of luck with it!

Yeah, can't really criticise this list.

This should work wonders for you, particularly 5 immortals in a 1000pt battle.

Let us know how it turns out, particularly me as I'm currently experimenting to see what works at 1000pts.

I use exactly the same list myself except with 7 immortals instead of the tomb spyder and it works great. So far its one every game its played (even though that may only be 3) and it's been an utter thrashing when I do. The destroyers are absolutely lethal as you would expect and the lord + bodyguard unit has NEVER died on me. In 1k there are very few things short of termies that can deal with it.

I'm with Shas on this one. I always put my lord in a retinue of warriors (still awaiting my shipment of immortals) and it too has NEVER died on me.

Even in the few games I've lost, the lord and his retinue have never completely died but merely Phased Out. I can tell you that with the solid list you have, your opponents will have to go through hell and back to achieve victory (if they do...).

People tend to underestimate the lord when he's 'hiding' in the middle of warriors.
