Hey everyone, just looking for some advice on my 1750 list. Been playing a 1000 point list for a while now, and looking to bump it up to 1750. Here's the list:
Autarch, bike, fusion gun, mandiblasters, lance 140
Farseer, bike, RoW, SS, Fortune, Doom, spear 173
4 Warlocks, bikes, doom, 3 destructor, embolden, 3 spears 224
7 bikes, 1 cannons 164
7 bikes, 1 cannons 164
8 banshees, exarch, executioner, warshout 155
-Waveserpent, SS, BL, SC, SE 170
2 vypers, SL, 2 SC 140
2 vypers, SL 120
Fire Prism, HF, SS, SE 175
Fire Prism, SS 125
Alright, some tactics to put up. The seer council has the autarch in it mainly for the power weapon punch, and extra wounds, but also because he can split off and go assault the same target as the banshees if necessary. Also he gives the ability for an extra contest against an objective later in the game. The GJBs stay in reserve until they're forced onto the board, and at that point, they will play mainly defensive turbo boosting around the back, and maybe taking shots at side armor of rhinos and chims. Banshees start with brightlance target priority, and then should the vehicle loose it's ability to shoot, or the opportunity arise, will boost into combat near the seer council in order to benefit from doom from the farseer (banshees could change to a full squad of DA's. preferences?). Vypers will focus shots on side armor of vehicles, pick up cover saves, and move fast to contest objectives (may hunt in a pack of GJBs for the portable cover save). And lastly the fireprisms will hang back and shoot, and the reason that one is so buffed up is for that objective that's just swarming with guys. It'll sit 36" away, and run up with the aid of fortune if possible to reroll cover saves and survive a turn.
Comments? Concerns? Anythings welcome. Thanks
it may be too much but i would swap the banshees + serpant for another prism and more bikes, wither bump those squads but i would make a smaller biker unit, or divide your units of bikes plus the additional ones into 3 balanced units
but yeah i like vypers, 4 is good u got an ok config, HQ seems fine
I'm hesitant to make that switch, because the banshees will put out a lot more kill than a fire prism, and the transport with BLs gives the shot that means I don't have to waste 2 prisms on a landraider or leman russ each turn. That may just be my opinion, but it also gives a more offensive grip on the board, this way there's more likely to be two units (and one tank) that are nearer to their models, rather than just the seer council. are three fireprisms that much more effective than 2? It also seems to open up room for people to call cheese.. even though it's really not. But sportsmanship can be key in tournaments.
Thanks for the input

if your able to justify reasons for not making that change thats perfect, I was simply stating what i would want my list to look like. winning with eldar is hard lol
I think the Banshees are good in this list. Although one Waveserpent on the board means it might be targeted more. You do need the backup for the seer council. If the council was bigger then you could get away with solo but 4 warlocks isn't enough to take on all comers, even with guardian jetbike support. I've never run a Jetbike council, and expecially now one with an Autarch, but you seem to be tooling your unit to take out tanks (lots of spears). If your going for tanks then the 3 destructors are a wasted and the Autarch is totally overkill. If not then the spears are a probably overkill. Like I said I'm not sure about running jetcouncils but it seems you might need to tweek the HQ section.
I like the comment about making 3 jetbike squads as it will give you 3 scoring units and 3 shuri cannons. If you want a purely Saim Hann army and you have the models/money you could drop the Banshees for more Guardian Bikes and more councilors but I don't know how effective that will be.
That is all, Saim Hann is awesome.

@the banshees>more bikes. because of there being few tanks, I need to make them survivable and at least enough to eat some of my opponents shots. In addition the bikes do make it more saim hann fluff, but until our next codex are not strong enough to spend more points on than 1/2 effective units because they're too expensive. The waveserpent covers this by containing a unit that could actually do harm, and by being a tank with energy fields (or whatever that no more than +1 d6 rule is) so I can charge it over to an enemy objective with a melta without having to worry about death or glory too much. I really would love to exchange the banshees and tank bikes and a couple more vipers to really give it that feel, but I feel like I'll just end up loosing too much competitiveness.
@the seer council. they are actually far more effective than you'd think. When you pump that many points into a squad, it's necessary to make it be an all comers HQ. The spears are in there for when I'm charging a tank, as well as the fusion gun. The doom warlocks will put out a lot of hurt to GeQs and still some pretty significant hurt to MeQs, but in close combat with MeQs I find that the seer council can really get bogged down, and that's why I have the autarch in there, who on the first round of combat (combined with doom) will normally cause 4 power weapon wounds. This combined with any that the locks and seer do really doesn't leave room for a squad to come back because they'll be attacking second. If I could find the points, I'd give my farseer runes of witnessing and bump the embolden warlock up to another destructor for that extra load of damage, but I just can't find a place I'm willing to drop points from. Does that HQ seem more balanced after explanation? or is there something that should be fixed in it still.
