Welcome to Librarium Online!
This list is based on 5th edition rules and the Tyranid Assault Brood. I have no other models to include at this time except for 1 Carnifex that was in the assault brood but is not in this list due to point limitations. I'm just getting back into the game after a few years of off time and I've never played a Nid army before so anything you find helpful or useful is welcomed. Criticism is welcomed. Please include explanations with your suggestions.
Intended to lead the warriors and provide Synapse for the Hormagaunts as they make a fairly straight forward advance.
Intended to provide Synapse and support for the Carnifexes as they blast whatever needs blasting.
1) Tyranid Warrior x 4
Lash Whip and Bonesword
2&3) Two Hormagaunt Broods of 16
Total for both troop choices: 256
Intended for standard advancing.
4) Genestealers x 16
Broodlord's Scything Talon
Broodlord's Implant Attack
Broodlord's Acid Blood
Intended for Standard Flanking
Carnifex x 2
Intended to provide ranged support for the melee troops. Also, intended to draw fire from while destroying enemy artillery and heavy support in order to allow for the advancement of the melee troops and successful flanking by the Genestealers force.
Grand Total: 1496

Looks pretty solid to me. I would probably drop Regen off the carnies though and maybe even swap out the Stranglethrorn cannon for a HVC for more anti tank + they still rock for support. Your Prime that you plan on advancing with the carnies should probably have a bigger gun then devs, Dual bone swords are good but make him more threatening at range as well. Aside from that it looks good to me.
How will you defend against jotww? The jotww makes you roll for initiative test and if you don't get equal or below your initiative your model is dead and they can snipe specific models without targetting the unit. So the squad they join can shoot something else and MCs can -1 to their rolls, but carnifexes are initiative one. Your genestealer squad seems very expesnive and tooled up. Newcomers tend to get excited about one unit and focus their list around it, which can lead to unpleasant experiences. I would suggest that you grab more units and not tool up one squad to get a more competitive and balanced list. You also lack shooting to take down tanks, especially land raiders, i would suggst a tyrannofex ( just one ) with a rupter cannon and some hive guard. I don't like zonathropes, but having them in pods can help, especially when you have a hive tyrant with hive commander to give +1 to their reserve rolls.
I would also stick with 4 scoring units.
I hope my information is useful.
