2500pt Pitched/Annihilation w/ +1 added to entire FOC vs IG
I'm going to flat-out 24" to be able to disembark, move, and be within 6" in the Shooting and Assault phases of the 2nd turn. If able or tactically smart to do so, I would detach ICs to inflict as much damage as possible in that turn. Two Serpents will be FORTUNED while a Prism will be GUIDED. I'm expecting about 15-20 vehicles/walkers.
3 EML (7) Dragon Serpents w/ Exarch w/ Tank Hunters and Crackshot
w/ Autarch w/ Fusion Gun, Mandi-blasters, and Power Weapon
1 EML (7) Dragon Serpent
4 Fire Prisms
I know that Tank Hunters might be overkill in most cases, but I want to ensure tank squadrons are destroyed as quickly as possible....even with glancing hits! I see myself attacking his army from either left to right or right to left. He generally keeps his ground troops in a corner protected by tanks so I see myself attacking the opposite side with my Dragon Serpents.
The EMLs will be aiming at disembarked/infantry units for the most part.
My Prisms will be aiming at everything as it takes priority. Will try to wreck transports leaving units stranded.
Not sure what else to add. Thinking 2-3 squads 5man of sky leaping/grenade dropping Hawks to take aim at ground troops, as a way past the cover save they'd generally get, for the majority of the game until most of the tanks are done with.
Probably will go with 2 5man Avenger squads to fulfill Troop FOC or 2 5man Ranger/Pathfinder squads to take aim at ground troops. Not sure.
Any ideas? Criticisms?
The plan is ok. 5 man avenger squads are way better than 5 man pathfinder team in corelation to your plan. And they kill enough. Do not forget fire dragons and DA ussualy kill IG in close combat.
Hight elf and Craftworld Eldar army project pics heavy: linky
The match was a DoW battle with me going first. I positioned my two EML Guardian squads 24" away from enemy's table edge to allow minimal space (6") for his deployment. He ended up proxying 2 full squads of Hydras that caused 0 damage, and were killed in EXPLOSIONS thus causing some woundes to his surrounding 2 full platoons and full HQ.
Ended up going with:
EML Fire Serpent
EML Fire Serpent
EML Banshee Serpent
EML Seer Council Serpent
He brought 2 brand new Vendettas to the game on turn 2 that were destroyed when my 3rd turn began. Fuegan and Yriel made short work of everything moving from unit to unit. My seer council could've done better though the unit they shot at failed a morale check and died moving off the board. Pretty much made a lot of his units fal back to their doom in that 6" space they had to move. So if anything, my list did WAAAAAY to good since they weren't able to get in assault the same turn due to the target's demise.
I won by 300+ points.
Notable Achievements: Farseer w/ SS taking down a Monolith all by itself in one shooting phase. A Warlock w/ SS in a Guardian squad on an objective taking down a Soul Grinder in one Shooting phase. 2nd turn 2 DSing Trygon Primes going from 6-0 wounds during turn 3.
