Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ok, I have been slowly building up my Tyranid army, I have been gathering knowledge from battle reports and I belive I have found a hyper-competitive list, I would like to give a big thanks to Heirodule for all the help he has given me in making this army. So here it goes.
Hive Tyrant- 2 x Scything Talons, acid blood, Wings, Hive commander
8x Genestealers- Broodlord with Talons = 160
20 Hormagaunts- Toxin sacs
Tervigon- Adrenal glands
3 x Zoanthropes
Doom of mal'antai
3 x Hive Guards
This list comes to a total of 1745 points. That leave 5 points for upgrades.
The generaly plan is: Field everything build the 3 thropes, doom and the stealers, run everything up and deep strike the people in the spores and outflank with stealers. The guards hunt transports, the thropes hunt heavy vehicles, the termagaunts, provide cheap fire support, whilst the hormagaunts block the enemy and by time for the big guys whilst also providing a cover save. The Tervigon pumps out gaunts, and the Hive Tyrant flies ahead providing synapse and destroying everything.
The two Trygons can either run up the field or deep strike, depending on what type of army I am versing. Any advice for the list, or how its played will be much appreciated, thanks!
Congratulations, youve built a list that i genuinly feel you can't improve on
I think its well ballanced, has no glaring weaknesses and should provide you with a good times gaming!
Let me/us know how it goes in the future, and best of luck
Your friendly neighbourhood gargantuan creature
Will do, I have an upcoming tourney next week, so ill get some battle reports done and ill be sure to post them, thanks agian.
I think you're going to have problems with practical application. If you run the Gaunts up, they're the only thing on the board for anti-infantry and will get chewed up. If they all Reserve/Outflank, your MCs might take some extra wounds from the guns that would normally kill Gaunts.
It would also be nice if you had another Troop unit, I know you have a respectable number but in many instances they will get hammered. Tervigons can burn out early and the Gaunts unit are an easy early target. The Stealers are a legit threat so of course they're taking shots.
Your list is good but I forsee you having issues against well played shooting lists or very maneuverable armies. You will pretty much destroy Marines or assault armies without effort.
Check my Blog for Battle Reports, useless ranting and more! Comments appreciated.

I do see what you mean, but I think i'll just leave that list, it works well enough thanks for the advice though!, next I need some help shrinking it to a 1000 point list (I would like to not include any models that are not already posted above) Note: I do have a dakkafex I can use, my current 1k point list is
Hive Tyrant -Wings, Scything Talons
20x Hormagaunts -Toxic Sacs
3x Tyranid Warriors - 2 with Deathspitters, 1 with Barbed Strangler
3x Hive Gaurds
Carnifex -2x Devourer with Brainleech Worms
This leaves 48 points, and as you can see I need more anti-tank but I need help point wise, to many good units not enough points >.<
Sorry to rain on the parade, but your points cost on the tyrant (first list) looked a little low. Looking into it, adding all the points you have as you've stated them, that's 1765 points as is, but you forgot to add the 25 points on hive commander for the Tyrant I believe. Your total point cost for the first list is 1790. Might not be a problem, but you say you're taking it to a tourney, don't want you getting disqualified...
Problem is, looking at your list, I can't really see anything worth dropping to make up for the 40 points... Maybe a Hive guard and having 10 points left for something else? But then you start to lack in the anti-tank department. Getting rid of a few hormagaunts would do it too, but any less than 20 and they start to lose survivability pretty quickly. Tough call, I'm sure you can make it.
As for your second list, add another hive guard and split them into two squads of two. Adds the anti-tank you were looking for, and I don't think 2 points over will be a problem.
