well here's my first attempt at an Ork army list.
I'll be playing against Tau and maybe space wolves. Its for friendly/ fun games so that's my main goal, but it doesn't hurt having fun while kicking ass, but I don't want the "ultimate Tau stomping list". The list is based on my own made up clan/army the "Trukk Rushas"
for the fluff:

I do not have the codex yet, but a friend of mine does, he just couldn't find it but he did had some notes written on paper about the gear etc, but he wasn't sure if it was from an old edition or not. so I could be wrong with point costs.
120 Big Mek
-Kustom Force Field
315 10 nobz [da boss guard]
175 20 boyz (shoota)
-2 Big shootas
175 20 boyz (shoota)
-2 Big shootas
139 12 boyz [stompa skwat 1]
139 12 boyz [stompa skwat 2]
55 Trukk [stompa skwat1]
55 Trukk [stompa skwat2]
210 Battlewagon [ Da boss-mobile]
-2 big shootas
-2 rokkit launchas
idea is to rush with my boss and his Nobz and the stompa squads, all in their respective transports, towards the Tau line and tie them up in CC. The rest of my boyz move/shoot the rokkits are to there to take out the occasional devilfish(or fishes) for his pathfinders.
Welcome to the Orks!
Have you checked out this thread yet?:
If not, then I'd definitely check it out. A few people, including myself, put it together as a basic guide for new Ork players.
The edition you're using is correct. In any case, I'd get the codex soon.
You can't give the big mek a combi-skorcha, since you already traded his slugga for the KFF. You could give him a burna (instead of the powerklaw) and achieve close to the same result.
Stikkbombs are free for nob mobz. You don't have to pay for them. Also, they can count as a troop, since you have a warboss. I'd do so, so they can claim objectives.
A stikkbomb chukka would be cheaper than buying stikkbombs individually for the boyz in the trukks. I'd also drop the armor plates. Just give them a ram, and keep them within range of the KFF. They're too easy to destroy to warrant armor.
The nobz really need a waaaugh banner, bosspole (put in the unit, not on the warboss), combi-skorchas on the nobz with powerklaws, and some sort of armor. Eavy armor is fine, although a painboy and cybork is better, if you have the points. You could always cut off 1-2 powerklaws if you need the points.
Finally, there are WAY too many guns on that battlewagon. Most turns will be spent moving over 6in, so there's no real reason to have more than a single big shoota or kannon. Besides, if you shoot the killkannon, then you can't shoot anything else, because it's ordnance. Even without the killkannon, you'd have to stay completely motionless in order to fire more than one of those guns.
Instead, I'd run the battlewagon w/kannon, armor plates, grot riggers, and a deffrolla. Nothing else.
"Any job worth doing, is worth doing with a powerklaw."
Got the codex now (hoeray )
what do you suggest? as far as I know the Powerklaw is Holy to Orks and I dont know if a burna is better?
ow thats nice, free nades , the things is that if I take them as troops I have to ditch one of my boyz squads. (I can use them to capture, right? or is that a bad idea?)
The things you said makes sense and I hope I have enough points after I've dropped all the unneccesary things.
thanks for the help (Rep)
