Hi all. I'm going to a conflict tournament which is 1000pts and I have decided to use a list that would not have a bad army composition but also pack some punch. The list is:
5 Fire dragons- Exarch, Firepike=100
10 Dire avengers- Exarch, 2 shuriken catapult, Bladestorm=152
6 Rangers- Pathfinders=144
10 Guardians- EML=100
Night Spinner=115 (Rules are in the latest white dwarf mag)
Please express your opinions on this list.
I'm fond of it. I'd stick with just a Doomseer, neither nor the Dragons or DAs should need to re-roll hits. Grab RoWard and maybe a Spear.
If you run an Exarch get Crack Shot, you don't really need the Pike with a transport. Crack Shot is for ignoring Smoke.
Serpent needs Stones.
If you have more Guardians, run them instead of the Rangers. They just don't do enough to run. If you keep them, downgrade to 5.
Guardians would love a Warlock with Conceal or Embolden if you find the points. never give them a single shot gun, go with a Shuriken Cannon or Scatter Laser.
Falcon would be better with an EML as it's a lighter armor/infantry hunter. Get Stones if you can, Holo-Fields would be amazing but probably to expensive.
Night Spinner would like Stones but not as much as your actual transports.
Thanks for the advice. Just some queries. I am using the guide power to enhance the effectiveness of the falcon and the rangers so they can do much better. I have taken the advice on taking one ranger out and I have put in stone on my transports. You were right on the fire dragons so I would probably change that part to what your advised. Just incase you haven't noticed, the EML also is a blast weapon which is why I take it for the guardians because it does not need to hit. I like the BL on the falcon because mainly I have the guide power. The advice you have given has been useful and I would take into account these when I change the list. If there are anything mistake on my queries, please correct me.
I'm aware it's a blast, but sometimes you need it to be a single shot. Scatter Lasers and Shuriken Cannons still have a very good anti-infantry aspect but are better against armor because you aren't chucking one roll.
If your Falcon is able to fire, than Guide works fine for it. In my experience Eldar vehicles spend most of the game at least Shaken.
