Hello, everyone! I'm a pretty new player of Warhammer 40k and the Necrons were really the army that attracted me the most. This is my 1600 pts list with which I am a competitive opponent until now.
Necron Lord with Warscythe, Destroyer Body, Phase Shifter, Resurrection Orb.
14 Necron Warriors
14 Necron Warriors
10 Necron Warriors
3 Necron Destroyers
9 Scarab Swarms with Disruption Fields
Usually my tactic is simple: I gather at least 2 out of 3 of my Necron Warriors close to the Nightbringer while usually the squad with 10 warriors will go upon a building and keep shooting from there. If the opponent comes for close combat he will be forced to move back because of the etheric tempest. If the Nightbringer goes for close combat, things will usually be pretty tight for the opponent. This main strategy comes with a flexible type of playing the destroyers and the Necron Lord, with which I mostly aim for enemy HQ or Heavy Support units which can be out-taken by a squad of 3 destroyers and a necron lord (i.e. Trygon), while at the same time the scarab swarms are moving around the table mostly aiming for the enemy's vehicles. Scoring a glancing hit on a roll of 6 with a total of 36 attacks is really useful and definitely scarabs worth their points just because of this use.
Generally that's all i do for the last 1 month when i battle, although I'd like to hear recommendations upon making the PERFECT 1600 pts, or even your opinion on my list and my strategy since I am pretty unsure of when I am going to buy models again due to a lack of money
