I've been thinking of embarrassing ways to beat my eldar friend. He always does a skimmer spam
1x Fire Prism
1x Wave Serpent
all with holofields
Farseer with 3 warlocks, doom + guide
I was thinking about trying to out elite him by beating him with only 2 units. Do you think it would be possible to beat this list with a kitted out Nob biker squad led by a warboss and some lootas?
I would use:
Biker Boss Attack Squig PK
Nob Biker PK Waaagh Banner
Nob Biker PK
Nob Biker BP
Nob Biker Ammo Runt
Painboy Biker w Grot Orderly
All with Cybork
I would try to get the terrain at the sides of the board where he cant use them. I figure I could rush across the board, Its only a 4 foot table. Id shoot down whatever is in the open, my first target will be the farseer and warlocks because they are right by the fire prism giving it guide and if i assault the fire prism they will get three destructor shots on my nobs. Then i will take out the fire prism and after that I think itll be all over. What difficulties can anyone forsee?
I dont think that this will work. The oroblem is that if h gets the first turn then he will simply shoot you to death. If any of you do survive then it will not be enough to actually do anything
Are you sure? If he gets first turn all he has is 3 skimmers to shoot with. And with allocation he would have to deal 9 wounds to even kill one of my bikers. With 4+ cover save and feel no pain, I dont think he has the volume of fire needed to take out my bikers in one turn.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: skimmer spam is THE most difficult fight for Orks. Virtually all skimmers are fast, meaning they can move over 6in and still fire their main gun, meaning you'll only hit them on 6's.
The nob bikers with powerklaws and warboss will only get 14 attacks total, meaning on average they'll only get 2 hits. It'll be two penetrating hits, but thanks to the holofields, you'll have to roll 2 dice and take the damage result he chooses. There's a good chance you won't do anything besides keep them from attacking for a turn. The other 4 nobz will get a total of 19 attacks, resulting in 3 hits, and probably one damage result, either a glancing or penetrating hit.
The lootas will get on average 20 shots = 7 hits. At first you'll be facing the front/side, so you'll probably get 2-3 damage results, which is pretty good. In fact, you may have noticed that the lootas have done almost as much damage as the nob bikers, despite costing 1/4 their price. What I'm getting at, is that 2 units of lootas may ultimately be far more detrimental to him than the nob bikers, especially if the lootas are backed up by big gunz with kannons.
High volume shooting is really the only reliable way to deal with skimmers. You can go for powerklaw attacks, but it'll be difficult to hit.
"Any job worth doing, is worth doing with a powerklaw."
Thanks for the feedback guys I always appreciate it, I played this game over the weekend with a similar list except for I used Wazdakka's rules and point value for my Warboss and he added some upgrades to his units.
Anyway, the list did just what it was meant to. I got to go first and turbo boosted next to his fire prism and with some lucky rolls wazdakka blew it up with his kannons. My lootas stunned his falcon this turn as well. Next turn he doomed me and used 3x destructor blasts and caused some wounds but didnt kill anything. Next turn I got close enough to assault his wave serpent, wazdakka failed to shoot it down, and blew it up with the power claws. The lootas finished off the falcon as well. On his turn he couldnt reach me with his farseer and warlocks so he ran and fortuned himself, the rest of the game was just me chasing him down and I won without taking a casualty.
The win could definitely be because of poor play from my opponent and lucky rolls but the list did perform admirally even if it isnt ideal. Thanks again for the help guys, just thought I'd let you know how it went!
