Need comments from experienced Tau players

    Hey ya,

Ty for checking out my thread, I just started playing tau about a month ago, prior to this i was using a FW tau BFG fleet, and for 40k i am a DE, CSM and an ex Wolf player (the older dex) with the SM parent dex being the super thin codex with the ugly crimson fist dude on the cover...

Since my humble beginnings with the tau, I have taken a serious liking to them and being building them frantically... I favour more mobility in my play style. I know ppl dont like using 8 men fire warrior squads preferring the minimum 6... but so far it has worked well for me

For starters, find the point for bonding knives for your Shas'O, XV8's and XV88's. It is almost a must.

I t hink your points for the broadside team is slightly off, it may be worth a check.

    Looks cool otherwise.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.

Agreed with the above. Bonding knives are a must when units are made up of only 2 or three units. Otherwise you risk having like 70pts worth of crisis suit run off the field without chance of regrouping, and on XV8 can make a huge differance.

I would also bond your firewarriors, but that is just me. Personally I usually only have one shield drone on my commander, but then again I have a shield gen and stimulent injectors on him.

And I am guessing the skimmers are for tank hunting judging by the fusion blasters. Remember on non-kill point games, the drones on those babies are free drone squads you can launch at leasure. Deploy them to screen the skimmers or other important troops from melee assaults. Sure they are paper weak, but they will tie the enemy up for a turn and leave the assault clear for the next shooting phase =) Likewise with the devilfish drones.

You could make a 10 drone string if you include the devilfish ones as well. Enough for an all around vanguard if need be. Saves you the need for kroot.

    1. i never liked the skyray all that much, ive tested it and its not exactly the most reliable tank, but when it works it works, but i dont like it.
    2. im not sure your D-fish need flechette dischargers, i personaly like them, but i usually dont take them on my transports, cus once they either die from shooting or their fire warriors die, they're not going to attract alot of assault.
    thats about it.
