necron lord wiv staf of light 100 pts
6x squads of 20 necron warriors with disruption fields 2400 pts
do u guys think this would work
No, because at that level he's bound to have assault troops. 20 warriors is pretty easy to assault and WIN combat by, then you're testing on negative modifiers and likely to just lose to sweeping advance and there goes like 15 warriors with zero effort. If it was a gunline like Guard or something, maybe. But any even partially focused CC unit will tear you up. But feel free to try whatever you would like. Also no orb? Warriors with Dfields are sad...
On a side note, 120 warriors would be nerve wracking I think. But all but gunline armies are going to destroy it

I would have to agree here. You are attempting to table your opponent solely with your valuable Troops choices. The logic is not great, because in objective based missions, while your entire army is trying to claim objectives, Fast Attacks and Heavy Supports and Elites will be raining down on you without a care in the world about what happens to those objectives. As soon as you get preoccupied in close combat, the game is essentially over for you.
This is the reason why we have other options given to us, so that our Troops do not have to worry about everything on the table all at once. Certain units are designed to do certain things, and each unit has been allocated into a certain section of the Force Organisation Chart because they each FOC has specific roles that need to be played out by those particularly units, and nothing else. Troops main priority is objectives, and commiting the enemy. When all of your army is centered around just this battlefield role, with nothing to back it up, this phalanx will be broken in an instance.
Even Tyranids, with the sheer number of Troops that you can have ( over 200 ) coming at your from all corners of the board, cannot just simply rely on them, because some time they are guaranteed to break and be destroyed. Think of the game like chess. You cannot rely on your pawns, your Troops, to take down the king. The Queen is there as a bodyguard, while the Elites's role is played out by the Knights. The Rooks act as the Heavy Support, and the Fast Attack role belongs to the Bishops. Each and every one of these units works in unison to ultimate take down the HQ the King. If all you had was Pawns on the board, then you only have one line of defence, and you will never break into the second ranks to touch the king.
So I am sorry to say this, even though it would be terrifying for the opponent to see 120 Warriors on the table, it would not take long for them to get over it, and potentially win the game in 2-3 turns. It looks good in theory, but not good practice. Sorry! But keep trying to come up with an awesome list though.
