Great initiative! I'll beat everyone to the mill and send in the first request

    Requested armylist specifics:

    1. Points level: 1750pts

    2. Units I want included:
    • Venomthropes!
    • Hive Tyrant (walking or flying)
    • Tervigon
    • Raveners

    3. Units I don't want included:
    • Pyrovore
    • Mycetic Spores
    • Harpy
    • Gargoyles
    • Shrikes
    • Rippers of any kind
    • Tyrannofex

    4. This list is intended for friendly games, so the more fun the better. I'm often finding it hard to strike a good balance between a fun list and an efficient list, so a fun list that is still reasonably good would be awesome. Anything that isn't mentioned in the include or not include lists is free to be included.

    5. Likely opponents: Blood Angels, Orks, Chaos Space Marines

Thanks for all the help and this superb opportunity to see what others would make of my minis! If there is any additional information you need, just let me know and I'll fill you in.

First off the bat eh? Well how about something like this-
    HQ:
Hive Tyrant- 2 x Scything Talons, acid blood, Wings, hive commander
    270

    Elites:
    3 x Hive Guards
    150
    3 x Hive Guards
    150
    1x Venomthrope
    55

    Troops:
    Tervigon- Toxin sacs & catalyst
    185
    8x Genestealers- Broodlord with Talons
    160
    10 Termagaunts
    50
    20 Hormagaunts- Toxin sacs
    160
3x Tyranid Warriors - All with 2x bone swords
    120

    Heavy Support:
    Trygon Prime- regeneration
    265
    OR
Carnifex- 2x twin linked devourers with brainleech worms
    190

If you take the trygon over the fex you have 130 points! on raveners (Sorry I cant out them in, my codex is missing the page for them T.T) If you take the fex over the trygon you have 205 points on raveners

This is a balanced list, as it has the capacity to render the marines useless with the hive guards, destroying their vehicles, when the flyrant flies in for the killing blow. The gaunts swarm and tie up those pesky units whilst those stealers remove those terminators for you .
The warriors provide additional synapse for the gaunts.
Above I left you with an option, for infantry heavy orc armies id takes the dakkafex to chew up those boys, if your fighting the tough as nails marines take the trygon for more umph.
Now im off to bed, night.

If you want to use venomthropes in your army, you kinda have to build around them. What type of army benefits from them? A shooty army with some monstrous creatures (i.e. trygons) that normally have problems getting cover.

I would go something like this:

    1x Hive Tyrant - Heavy Venom Cannon + 1x TL-D's, Old Adversary - 235
    1x Tyrant Guard - 60

    2x Hive Guards - 100
    2x Hive Guards - 100
    2x Venomthropes - 110

    1x Tervigon - Catalyst, Toxin Sacs - 185
    30x Termagants - 150
    20x Hormagants - Toxin Sacs - 160
    4x Tyranid Warriors - Rending Claws, 1x Barbed Strangler - 150

    5x Ravenors - Rending Claws - 175
    5x Ravenors - Rending Claws - 175

    Trygon or Carnifex w/Heavy Venom Cannon + 1x TL-D's - 200
    Trygon or Carnifex w/Heavy Venom Cannon + 1x TL-D's - 200

    Total - 2000
Record: Win - Loss - Draw: Hive Fleet Pandora (New) 32-6-6 Space Wolf 7th Co. 52-11-6
    Blood Angels 12-4-2 Daemonhunters 20-8-3
    Imperial Guards 12-5-2 Daemons 8-3-2

    1. Point Level: 1000
    2. Which units you want to include: As much as the battle force as possible. Also a trygon if possible. Model is SWEEET.
    3. Which units you dont want to include: Tervigon, cant convert.
    4. How competitive do you want it: want it to semi... dont want to go for a cheesy list or anything but also want to win once in a way
    5. What armies you would most likely be versing, Eldar, Space marines and Chaos.

I have to say, Necrontyr, the combination of desired units and your list of unwanted units makes this a nearly impossible task! You're certainly never going to get a truly competitive army list out of it.

A big part of the problem is that raveners and venomthropes won't ever really work together in the same list. They pull the list focus into opposite directions. Venomthropes should be employed in lists where the army is shooty with counterassault potential. You want people to risk the dangerous terrain tests to get to you while you shoot the piss out of them on the way in. Raveners are pure assault units. Either you'll assault them out of your Vthrope bubble -- which is counter to what you're trying to achieve by including Vthropes in the first place -- or you're going to deep strike them behind enemy lines where you won't have any Synapse to help you AND they'll be exposed. Again, splitting units off your main force is not conducive to making an army with Vthropes functional.

You're also ruling out almost every shooting platform the codex offers you! You are only allowing for hive guard, hive tyrants, and carnifexes. This is a HUGE limitation that there is no good tactical reason to follow.

In sum: You want "Venomthropes!" but you also don't want any of the Tyranid shooters! AND you want assault units! This is all but totally unworkable.

That said, here's my best shot at the problem.

    HQ
[210 pts] Hive Tyrant, brainleech devourers, heavy venom cannon
[90 pts] Prime, boneswords, rending claws

    Elite
    [100 pts] 2 Hive Guard
    [55 pts] Venomthrope
    [55 pts] Venomthrope

    Troop
    [120 pts] 12 Termagants, devourers
[195 pts] Tervigon, cluster spines, catalyst, adrenal glands, toxin sacs
    [155 pts] 4 Warriors, 4x rending claws, 3x devourers, 1x venom cannon

    Fast Attack
[140 pts] 4 Raveners, scything talons, rending claws

    Heavy Support
[210 pts] Carnifex, brainleech devourers, heavy venom cannon, adrenal glands
[210 pts] Carnifex, brainleech devourers, heavy venom cannon, adrenal glands
[210 pts] Carnifex, brainleech devourers, heavy venom cannon, adrenal glands

    Total: 1750 pts

You can attach the Prime to the Warriors for better BS out of the unit, or to the Raveners as a bullet-catcher to keep them alive. If you're feeling risky, and have the opportunity to disrupt your opponent's backfield, you may deep strike the Raveners instead of walking them, but they're not likely to have any Synapse so be wary of them being led around by the nose.

The list is designed to advance en masse, shooting all the way. Raveners in front (usually with the Prime attached) followed by the gants, followed by everything else. As the first elements of the enemy approach, break the Prime off and either send him at an exposed weak unit or attach him to the Warriors while sending the Raveners out to intercept. Keep shooting at everything else.

The Carnifexes have adrenal glands so that anything that wants to charge you will get charged in turn by I4, S10 monstrous creatures. Sorry, Marines, these guys are just as fast as you are!
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

Hey everyone, thansk a bunch for all the feedback and the lists.

#6 > Hehe, that's what I keep saying. I'm no good at striking a good balance between a "fun" army and a competitive one. I really like the venomthropes, but I suppose I actually don't have the army to back them up. My limits are my models, naturally, though I could very well remove the raveners from the include list. I usually only include them because they're both fun and effective at what they do, in this list though, I would probably be better off without them.
The units in the not include list are simply units that I don't own. Perhaps it would be better to include a while list of what units we own when requesting an army, so that we can actually play the lists we recieve. But like I said, I'm not interested in competitive play, so just getting a fun and entertaining game with a relatively strong army is what matters to me. Thanks for all your input, it is much appreciated!

Nice list! I would however, drop that lone thrope and add a broodlord to the stealers.
Id change the warriors to 3x Tyranid Warriors - All with 2x bone swords
    120
And drop the termagaunt squad down to 10.
With the points you saved bump up the hormaguants to 20, that all I can say.
