Welcome to Librarium Online!
so myself and a bunch of mates have been running a campaign during the last few months. The final battle will probably be fought sometime during Christmas vac. We decided beforehand that it'd be a really titanic battle, but NOT Apocalypse-size, so we're playing an average 3500 vanilla 40k game (which I'm still super amped for). However, currently we're all more or less on a par in terms of victory points, so to break the stalemate we thought we'd have a kind of three-day knockout tournament, using our 3500 point lists. So I'm not entirely sure who I'll be facing, which is fine with me... I came up with this list earlier today, any pointers?
Autarch with mandiblasters, warp jump generator, power sword and fusion gun = 125
Farseer with spirit stones. Powers: Doom, Guide, Fortune = 150
5 Warlocks, 1 with Conceal, 1 with Enhance, 3 with Destructor = 185
10 Howling Banshees, Exarch with Executioner = 182
mounted in Wave Serpent with twin-linked starcannons, spirit stone, star engines = 150
10 Striking Scorpions, Exarch with Shadowstrike, Stalker, Scorpion’s Claw = 212
10 Fire Dragons, Exarch = 172
mounted in Wave Serpent with twin-linked Bright Lances, Spirit Stone, star engines = 160
10 Dire Avengers, Exarch with Bladestorm, 2 shuriken catapults = 152
10 Dire Avengers, Exarch with Bladestorm, power weapon and shimmershield = 162
10 Pathfinders = 240
10 Pathfinders = 240
16 Guardians, 1 Starcannon, Warlock with Conceal = 193
16 Guardians, 1 Bright Lance, Warlock with Conceal = 197
10 Warp Spiders, Exarch with Surprise Assault, Spinneret Rifle = 247
1 Vyper with Shuriken Cannon and Scatter Laser, holo-fields, spirit stones = 115
1 Vyper with Shuriken Cannon and Starcannon, holo-fields, spirit stones = 125
Wraithlord with Bright Lance and Eldar Missile Launcher = 155
Wraithlord with Wraithsword and Starcannon = 130
Falcon with Starcannon, holo-fields, vectored engines, star engines, spirit stone = 220
As you can tell, I like starcannons... tactics are pretty simple: Scorpions infiltrate, and tie up enemy squads in cc, supported by Banshees who'll be riding around the battlefield in their Wave Serpent. Fire Dragons will be fulfilling a similar role, but they'll be hunting tanks/transports/elite infantry. Warp Spiders do the whole harassing thing that they do so well, supported by the Autarch (who can also go solo if need be). Dire Avengers and Guardians form the core of the army, laying down a hail of fire (with the occasional Bladestorm every now and then). Farseer and Warlocks sit just behind them, using psychic powers to help out, although they can also ride in the Falcon if necessary. The Pathfinders find a good position in cover and snipe the hell out of everything- terrain permitting, I'll have one covering each flank. Wraithlords and Vypers both advance up the flanks, to deter flankers and take out threatening targets. Falcon either transports Farseer and retinue or just makes a general nuisance of itself.
The armies I'll most likely be facing are Tau, Necrons, Tyranids and Black Templars.
LOL im new to eldar, but the list looks pretty beast =)
I'm not new to dubstep though ;P nice name xd
UKF? Bar9? Who do you listen to?
list is fun and works for fluff based battles..not competitive thus
Hight elf and Craftworld Eldar army project pics heavy: linky
It is a lot of fun, but I'm interested in how it isn't competitive? I'm no tournament player but I was quite proud of this list as I think it's balanced enough to handle most things that could get thrown at it without being too "cheesy"...
and iNK, totally OT but I'm a big Caspa & Rusko fan... but I also love Doctor P., Datsik, Borgore, Chase & Status...
List looks awesome to play. I think that it is a good list, although what people may mean when they say that it isn't too competitive it that you spend a lot of points on things that you would never considering getting in a 1500 point list. Although this is understandable due to needing to fill in the full 3500 points. If you could take more units it would help, but due to force organization I think this list is pretty damn good.
