Welcome to Librarium Online!
Christmas is fast approaching and I desire a new 40k army. But before i go buying models willy nilly I want some feed back on this list from some vets.
Hive Tyrant 220
2 venom thropes 110
2 zoan thropes 120
2 zoanthropes 120
10 genestealers 140
10 gene stealers 140
25 termagaunts 125
15 termagaunts 75
15 termagaunts 75
25 hormagaunts 150
General plan is to outflank with genestealers and hormagaunts while the bulk of termagaunts venomthropes and tervigon march strait into the jaws of the enemies. Tervigon using catalyst aswell as venomthropes providing cover to and on the screening group of 25 termagaunts.
zoanthropes hunting down tanks(uses zoan instead of hivegaurd due to synapse) while trying to stay within the edges of the scuttlign swarm of termagaunts.
And the hive tyrant sticking out like a sore thumb waiting to get popped because he doesnt have a tyrant gaurd to screen him(i dont know what to drop to achieve that 60 points)
anyways what would you change and in a 1500 point game how can i gety more tank kill without losing the swarm effect i love so dearly.
You need Hive Guard, They are indispensable at any points level. Maybe a few more Stealers or Hormagants. Consider getting some warriors and converting a prime. Otherwise pretty decent.
In trying to keep with your feel of the army you've made here's some suggestions for a minimal impact.
Drop one venomthrop for your tyrant guard. The remaining venomthrope can ride on the tervigons coat-tails (cose enough to break LOS with almost any enemy fire). He'll also be close enough to the gaunt broods to give them their bonuses too.
Drop two zoay's for 2 hive guard. with your footslogger army theme the guard can stand behind the gaunts and get a great 4+ cover save with toughness 6, better then a 3+ inv save t4 (and shorter ranged attack that has to roll a LD test to attempt to fire).
drop one gaunt from each brood (even the hormoguants). This is for two reasons, firstly their sold in boxes of 12 so a multiple of 12 is most economic for you. you can get away with buying 2 boxes of hormogaunts, and five boxes of termagaunts plus one half box. the fifth box is cuz you'll be spawning some (btw, don't ever spawn gaunts till at least turn 3 unless your tervigon looks like he's not gonna make it). Now you should have some points freed up ~ 50. Trade the venom cannon for a stranglethorn cannon, give the HT a second ranged weapon and or maybe some biomorphs. he's now a ranged monster and will hopefully draw fire from your tervigon. He can walk with the hive gaurd shooting while the rest of your army runs to get in range.
In the same line of though maybe run two units of 8 genestealers since they're sold in boxes of 8 and use the extra points to give your hormogaunts toxin sacs, the will be much fiercer with them.
The list i'm working on is similar though i have a prime over the tyrant and take a trygon. I actually really like what you're doing with the tyrant, outflanking stealers and hormogaunts while a large shooty brood walks up the middle... no safe place for them. Sadly, i'm not much for experience to tell you how that will work out.

So i ran a proxy match against a buddies dark eldar and found that the extra gaunts were redundant and far cumbersome. someone had brought up using the hive guard because they can not be 1 shot and get a cover save from screening gaunts. i still like zoans for synapse as well as land raider pop but they are two slow and rely only on warp saves to live so i decided to put them in a spore. With the loss of one of my four synapse i decided the gaunts would be better replaced by melee warriors. On charge 20 attacks at I5 the reroll 1's to hit wound on a 4 reroll against T5 or lower and rend. plus are synapse. To me that is a marine killing squad it also has the benefit of re supporting my synapse. I also to a brainleeh on the tyrant to make him more shooty.
Alright ready for any thoughts
Hive Tyrant 235
Tyrant gaurd 2 120
2 venom thropes 110
2 zoan thropes 120
mycetiv spore with venom cannon 60
2 hivegaurd 100
15 genestealers 210
24 termagaunts 120
5 Warriors with rending and scything claws toxin sacs and adrenal glands 200
Drop the venom cannon on the Zoans's Spore in favor of Barbed. I have found that What Typically kills Zoans is massed Fire from troops. Drop rending for bone swords. You can kill almost anything that is not immune to instant death but, Watch out for S8 and massed Shooting. Tyrant looks good. Maybe lash whips on the guard for piece of mind. Tervi is okay. Regen is Maybe a bit too pricey @ 1500 but, tjmo. Maybe a few more TG to take advantage of the Tervi's buffs. Otherwise it looks pretty good.

hmm, you lack a few things, and have to much of others.
you lack, AT, ranged AT and suppression, redundancy!!
you have, to many upgrades on a few things.
what you have is a large pick of units it apears you like and enjoy, and that's fine but the title includes the word "tourny" so i'm going to assume to want it to be competative ( sorry if I was to blunt) you want optimization if you want "competative"
tyrant is fine, although you only need 1 Tguard at this point level. (depending on your ranged AT 2x brainleech worms works well too if you want more infantry killing)
if you want the 20 gaunts and warriors can be replaced by another tervigon and 10x gant combo and you'll have 115 extra points to spend ( biovores would be a fun addition and maybe an HVC on a tyrant in the case of the switch)
why is your tervigon not a troop choice? a scoring MC Yes Please!
I dont see venomthropes being much use in this situation, if you layer your gaunts/gants properly the 4+ from them will trump the thropes save in this situation I find them more used in MC heavy lists were they are easier to hide and can throw a save on the front blocking wall for a short time. toss em
2 zoey's in a spore good, no upgrades are needed on the spore
2 Hive guard, good but not redundant, when theese 2 bite the dust your mid range AT is gone. 2 squads of 2 works well up till the 2k mark.
troops... is really random amounts of random units. at 1500 3 troop choices is plenty
your tervigon can go in this slot if you have at least 1 squad of gants, ( catalyst, dominion, toxin sac's) that build works very well for them and is relativly cheap.
15 stealers is overkill. waaaay overkill. 8 or 10 with a broodlord is just as effective and much cheaper.
I've found with warriors either pick guns or CC, rending claws, devourers, and a VC or , Deathspitters, Scything talons, and a VC depending on your preference work well. any other upgrades past that become unecessary ( excluding the Boneswords those are more situational) generally I prefer R.claws because those can eat light tanks due to rending awesomeness.
no heavy support?? were 'NIDS at least 1 big bug please
this is an example list of what i'm trying to way
Hive tyrant, 2x brainleech devourers, hive commander, parox, leech
 tyrant guard, lash whip
 2 zoanthropes, spore
 2 hive guard
 2 hive guard
Tervigon, catalyst, toxin sacs, cluster spines
 10x termagants
 20x hormagaunts, toxin sacs,
5 warriors, 5x rending claw, 4x devourer, 1x Venom cannon.
tyranofex, rupture cannon, cluster spines, dessicator larvae
now this list isn't perfect but, as you can see, almost everything can handle mech and infantry. ;p
I think Fenix is on the right track. At 1500 T-Fex's Are a bit pricey though and there is already enough AT imo. I would drop it in for more Hive Guard, troops and possibly Spitters on the Warriors. Maybe some spore mines to disrupt his preconceived battle plan.
