Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey guys, my first Nid list, now befor you say ANTI TANK, my next 2 selections are going to be 3 Zonethropes and 3 Hive Guard so chiiiiil winstan!
basicly im after a few tips of where to go next, i know i need the anti armour, was thinking 2 large broods of Termagaunts or some Gargoyls?
anyway here we go.
Hive Tyrant : Scything talons, Strangle Thorn Cannon
Tyranid Prime: Rending Claws 2x Bone Swords
6 Warriors: Rending Claws , Scything talons
6 Warriors: Rending Claws, Scything talons
6 Ripper Bases, Tunnelers.
This list with a couple of powers for the Tyrant comes to 1k, so with what i said in mind, pointers?
PROUD TO BE IN THE BRITISH ARMY.
~~ Surrender and serve me in life, or die and slave for me in death~~
Drop the ST on the Tyrant For HVC & LWBS and maybe get a power. Drop a warrior brood and give the other boneswords. IF you are going to get any lictor get the Death leaper. Drop rending on the prime. Rippers are for drawing fire Drop tunneling give them tox and run them with the prime. More Troops. Trygons are better imo. Hope this helps.
I'll be blunt to you: this isn't a swarm army.
Stuff the Lictor and Hive Tyrant, and get some little dudes. Hormagaunts and Termagants are exactly what Tyranids are about! You're going for the big, more refined stuff first, whereas you should just be buying packs and packs of smaller nids. Start from the bottom and work you're way up.
An army this small should be almost completely core. I have a 2000 point list where I spend 750 on core and 250 on HQ (minusing one of the HQ choices, of course). I would always recommend a Battleforce and Tyrant for starters, not a Mawloc and Lictor.
If you think what I am saying is exactly what you didn't want to hear, just look at it from a different perspective: you are writing a list on a LO forum calling it the first swarm when you only have 22 models. I have played a Space Marine army with more models than that for 1000 points, and that's just disgraceful.
However, if you are building an army where it is filled with warriors, and other larger creatures, knock yourself out. The Tyranid codex for 2010 is one of the most balanced in WH40K. Just don't call it a swarm, horde, tide, or anything like that next time until you have at least two large units of smaller nids.
