    1750 Eldar

    Hello everyone

I tried to make an effective mech list, but wanted to be original, by using a few units and strategies of my own. I like the Vyper, Falcon and Wave Serpent models alot, so that's why I use them. And because I think they have great tactical usage.
Without further ado, I bring to you:

    -HQ-
(108] Farseer with Doom, Singing Spear, RoWa, RoWi
He rides with one of the Dire Avenger units, Dooming squdas of infantry.
    -elite-
    (80] 5 Fire Dragons
My main AT, will go in a falcon
    (80] 5 Fire Dragons
    same here.

    -troop-
    (60] 5 Dire Avengers
    these will go in reserves.
    (60] 5 Dire Avengers
    same story

(152] 10 Dire Avengers, Exarch with Bladestorm, Dual Catapults
+(110] Wave Serpent with Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stones
    bladestorm large squads of infantry
(152] 10 Dire Avengers, Exarch with Bladestorm, Dual Catapults
+(110] Wave Serpent with Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stones
    same thing again

    -fast attack-
(225] 3 Vypers with EML and Shuriken Cannon
Sit back and take out Transports
(225] 3 Vypers with EML and Shuriken Cannon
when transports are killed, switch to plasma and fly forward to make use of the Shuriken Cannon.

    -heavy support-
(180] Falcon with EML, Holo, Spirit Stones
(180] Falcon with EML, Holo, Spirit Stones
Drops of dragons, then they fly back to my edge of the table, then picks up some dire avengers to make the falcons scoring this way i save alot of points

(180] Falcon with EML, Holo, Spirit Stones
this one sits back, shooting at transports with my Vypers. When one of the other dies, I still have this one to load the Dire Avengers in.

    1742 points

You might think, why Vypers? I'll give you a few reasons.

    1. The model is sweet.
    2. Doesn't take up a heavy support FOC slot
    3. They won't get shot down as fast because the enemy will mainly be shooting at my Wave serpents and Falcons, and since their 48'' away, I won't have to worry about Heavy bolters or small-arms fire.

I think CC heavy armies will be torn by this list. I can keep moving away from the enemy because I'm so fast. You also need 6s to hit me if I move 12''

So what do you think? Im still kinda new to the Eldar, so what would you do to make this list better?

Well the falcons with Fire Dragons is a bad idea. You want those falcons shooting evrey turn they can. With you're strategy they will get in around 3-4 turn of shooting per game. Their point is to sit in the back like prism and get some kills, not zoom around as a personnel carrier. Thats what Wave Serpents are for. Fire dragons need to close with the enemy and Falcons don't. They are at ends with their places in an Eldar army.

You don't need the shuriken cannons on the Vypers. You have a blast function on the EML's. Plus the Vypers will take a lot of fire and will die, so the less points on them the better. Perhaps think about taking out a falcon and adding in their cousin the war walker. Outflank the squad for side or rear armor of vehicles. You can get 3 of them with six EML's with 30 points to spare if you take out the shuriken cannons on the Vypers and one Falcon.
    Yes as in the book.

And get dem Dragons out of dem Falcons! Downright embarisin sometimes.

Thanks alot for your comment Soulforge. I changed the list accordingly.

    -HQ-
    (80] Farseer with Doom

    -elite-
    (80] 5 Fire Dragons
+(110] Wave Serpent with Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stones

    -Troops-
    (60] 5 Dire Avengers

    (60] 5 Dire Avengers

(147] 10 Dire Avengers, Exarch with Bladestorm
+(110] Wave Serpent with Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stones

(152] 10 Dire Avengers, Exarch with Bladestorm, Dual Catapults
+(110] Wave Serpent with Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stones

    -Fast Attack-
    (195] 3 Vypers with EML

    (195] 3 Vypers with EML

    -Heavy Support-
(120] 3x War Walkers with Shuriken Cannons

(165] Falcon with Shuriken Cannon, Holo, Spirit Stones

(165] Falcon with Shuriken Cannon, Holo, Spirit Stones

    1749

I thought about wave serpents vs falcons transporting Fire Dragons, and you're right, since Serpents are immune to Melta. My maths were wrong so I had to ditch a few other things. The war walkers will be outflanking.
For only 120 points they are quite cheap, so it won't matter that much if I lose them.. Do you think I still have enough AT?

    Hmm... lemme think.

Something has to go because the AT seems to be missing...

I would fiddle around with the list a bit. If you take a few Dire avengers out of the 10 man squads you can get some more EML's on the War Walkers, but its up to you how much you want to shrink the squads.

I would say get rid of another squad of Vypers, but since you wanted a list based on them and the falcons i guess they can stay. Just remember that there is a reason most people don't include them in a list. They cost a lot and you get relatively low levels of firepower from them.

Look to see what each of the vehicles is going to be doing EXACTLY on the board. You could perhaps loose a few spirit stones if what they will be doing doesn't need them. Like if the falcons are just going to be sitting back on an objective, they wouldn't need them.

So fiddle a little. See what you can drop, see what you need to keep.
    Yes as in the book.
