I am playing a tyranid player soon and we have both had the liberty of disclosing our lists at the same time. I have:
1 Necron lord with Res orb
50 warriors in squads of 10
1 Hive tyrant
72 hormagaunts in squads of 24
16 Genestealers in squads of 8
6 raveners in squads of 3
Some wargear i forget
Basically my plan is to set up and advance, shooting anything that happens to get close. Try to keep my army always within WBB range and if possible res orb and to not get caught in assault, in which case if i do i use the portal. If it is objective i might split up the army with a monolith and warrior squad going at three objectives, and the left over lord and warriors tagging along. I see my real threat as being stealers, as MC two pen dice does not work against the lith', but if those mawlocs do pop up under me i would be sure to gauss it to death.
Now, i would like to have some advice on the battle ahead, if thats not to much trouble. We havent rolled for game or deployment type, and we are NOT changing our lists. Only cause he keeps braggin about how he will swarn me with gaunts, and their is a fair amount of terrain on our field, with almost always 5+ saves 12" or more
Normally i would say "WTF NO DESTROYERS??" But to be honest...You might stand a small chance since you have 3 Monoliths droping ordnance Blasts every turn. And even with the scatter...with that many hormagaunts running around...chances are if and when you scatter it will most likely scatter into more hormagaunts. Plus the benefit of having all them warriors is when they get into rapid fire range you are going to mow through everything because your guns ignore his armor save so hes left with cover saves.
My Suggestion (other than trying to get some Destroyers) is to keep your warriors in the center of the board and once the genestealers come on the board try to get rid of them before they reach you. Use the Monoliths to slow the melee troops down. Your priority is to use your Particle Whip on the Warriors. Even though they have 3 wounds, you will instant kill them if you get a direct hit, and that is 95% of his synapse which doesnt matter much since hormagaunts feed will just cause them to run towards you either way. Have your warriors and whatever else you can shoot the Raveners! These guys have the beast rule which allows them to charge 12" so be VERY careful. On a good note he has no range that can kill your Monolith and his MCs dont get 2D6 to penetrate...so your monoliths should NEVER die. You can try walking 2 of them on the board and DS the 3rd one.
TBH even without destroyers (although I highly recommend them) You should win this game with ease as long as you get a them Particle Whips working for ya. I shouldnt have to tell you but stay out of CC at ALL costs! A little trick is to move 6" back shoot and repeat next turn. So maybe move up on turn one to get in the 24" range then move back 6" a turn after that.
Once again try to get some destroyers!!
I didnt mention Mawloc or the Hive Tyrant at all. The Mawloc will be hiding in a random terrain so as long as you stay clear from terrain you should be fine. The Hive Tyrants Priority depends on what hes using. If hes a Dakka Dakka Flyrant meaning does he have 2x Devours with brainleech worms with wings, or does he just have 2x Scything Talons. Does he even have wings? If he is a Scything Talon Hive Tryrant with wings then you need to kill hm ASAP! He WILL get into CC on Turn 2 and he WILL kill everything you own with it all by itself. You have no range (aka Destroyers) and he will fly 12" assault 6", kill your warriors, probably make them run and he will sweep them and repeat till yu are dead.
Its a tough call. I still think you can win but that Hive Tyrant and his Raveners will be the MVP of his army. GL!!
Edit: Another strategy might be to reserve ALL your warriors and walk the monoliths onto the board and try to kill everything you can before the warriors come in, then just play clean up duty. With his army having little to no way of killing 1 let alone 3 monoliths this may be a good strategy to go for.

*moved to the army list section*
Spambot kill tally. . .337
i would also suggest that you use your monoliths to tank shock anything that gets close as part of your movement. You can use this to force movement into firing lines and since they really don't have much of a chance at destroying your liths, you can use this really effectively.
