    3 different 2,000 pt lists

    List 1:

    HQ:
Hive Tyrant w/ Bonesword & Lashwhip, TL BL Devourers, OA (210 pts)
    2x Tyrant Guard w/ Lashwips (130 pts)

    Elites:
    2x Venomthropes (110 pts)
    3x Hive Guard (150 pts)
    3x Hive Guard (150 pts)

    Troops:
    21x Termagants (105 pts)
    20x Termagants (100 pts)
Tervigon w/ AG, TS, Catalyst (195 pts)
Tervigon w/ AG, TS, Catalyst (195 pts)
    4x Warriors w/ Boneswords & Lashwhips, 3x Devourers, Venom Cannon (195 pts)
    4x Warriors w/ Boneswords & Lashwhips, 3x Devourers, Venom Cannon (195 pts)

    Heavy Support:
Tyrannofex w/Cluster Spines, Rupture Cannon, Desiccator Larvae (265 pts)

    Total: 2,000 pts

I ran this list in a Tournament last month and went 2-1. I won against Necrons(Seize Ground 5 Objectives) and Slaanesh Daemons(Annihilation) . I lose versus Black Templars(Capture and Control) due to a tactical error on my part. I've also played in friendly games with this list and it's done very well in those games as well.

    List 2:

    HQ:
    The Swarmlord (280 pts)
Tyrant Guard w/Lash whip (65 pts)
Hive Tyrant w/ Lash whip & Bonesword, TL BL Devourers, Hive Commander, Armoured Shell (250 pts)
Tyrant Guard w/ Lash whip (65 pts)

    Elites:
    8x Ymgarl Genestealers (184 pts)
    8x Ymgarl Genestealers (184 pts)

    Troops:
    15x Hormagaunts w/ TS (120 pts)
    15x Hormagaunts w/ TS (120 pts)
    15x Hormagaunts w/ TS (120 pts) Outflank
    10x Genestealers w/ Broodlord (186 pts) Outflank

    Heavy Support:
    Trygon w/AG (210 pts)
    Trygon w/AG (210 pts)

    Total: 1994 pts

I've used this list once against a friend of mine's Orks. It didn't do so well as he had first turn and killed both squads of Ymgarl's with flame templates and it went downhill from there. However he said that it is a nasty list.

    List 3:

    HQ:
Hive Tyrant w/2x Scything Talons, Wings (230 pts)
Hive Tyrant w/ 2x Scything Talons, Wings (230 pts)

    Elite:
    6x Ymgarl Genestealers (138 pts)
    6X Ymgarl Genestealers (138 pts)

    Troops:
    15x Hormagaunts w/ TS (120 pts)
    15x Hormagaunts w/ TS (120 pts)
3x Warriors w/ Lash whips & Boneswords, Deathspitters, TS (255 pts)
3x Warriors w/ Lash whips & Boneswords, Deathspitters, TS (255 pts)

    Heavy Support:
    Mawloc (170 pts)
    Carnifex w/Adrenal Glands (170 pts)
    Carnifex w/Adrenal Glands (170 pts)

    Total: 1996 pts

This list I just made up a few days ago and haven't played with yet. A friend of mine said I should try making a list with Carnifex's so I am trying. However to me it seems Screamer Killers aren't deadly at all anymore and that you have to run them with 2x TL BL Devourers. So I would like help with this. I would like two Carnifexs and two Flyrants. The rest can be whatever. Except Gargoyles because I only have 10.

    List 1

Dont mix range and CC on tyrants, take another set of Twin devs. Especially seeing as youve already got OA.

Lose a brood of warriors and a tyrant guard, bump the guant broods up to 25-30 and grab a brood of 3 biovores.

    List 2

Your second tyrant sucks. Lose armoured shell and grab that other set of devourers. No real point in taking hive commander, OA is better in this case.

Biggest problem is how youve got no anti tank. Lose the Ymgarls for 2 broods of 3 hive guard. Actually i recogmend axing that second tyrant for a Tfex.

Quick note, how on earth did he flame ymgarls on turn 1?

    List 3

Same problem as above, no anti tank. Lose the ymgarls, replace them with hive guard. The mawloc has no place in the list, and those warriors are ridiculously expensive. Lose one of them. Grab a T-fex, and any points left over going towards more hormaguants.

    ^^^^

Hit the nail with the hammer. I second everything he says. And im also intergued to how he flamed the ymargals on the first turn O.o

But out of the 3 the first has the most potential.

I will do all of the above as they all make sense. However I haven't played Biovores yet. So I'll have to get used to them. However I have been noticing people using them a lot more lately. I'm assuming they are pretty over looked just like the Harpy's.

He flamed them all Turn 1 because I deployed them Dormant. I probably did it completely wrong as it was my first time using them. One squad got burned up by Burna Boyz. The second squad was burned by a Death Dred and shot up by Lootas. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I did it all wrong.

For you to be deploying them dormant you should be writing down which building they are hiding in on a piece of scrap paper (or a post it) and then you roll for them as reserves as if they were normal troops, like outflanking 'stealers.

Give them another chance, they are expensive but can be deadly if used the right way, and depending upon whether your opponent has made contingency plans for them arriving.

When do you tell your opponent where they come on? Whenever your roll is successful?

That's right. I normally write down the location or draw a small diagram with an X marked, never used more than 1 squad so I suppose you'd have to make sure you differentiate between squads (suppose you'd only need to do this if they are not identical). Then I'll put the paper in plain sight or on the floor under their side of the table so they know it isn't being messed with during the course of the game.

It is great letting your opponent pick the paper off the floor and watching the look on their face when you walk around the board to place your Ygmarls right next to a unit they thought was safe and dry.

Hope that helps, good luck with them, I don't see many others in the forums recommending them but I've found them to be very fun to play with. Probably wouldn't take them to a tourney though, too expensive and exposed to shooting.

Yeah, I think I'll just keep them around for friendly games. I'm glad that I was using them completely wrong. lol.

So re-dueing List 2 comes out like this:

    HQ:
    The Swarmlord (280 pts)
Tyrant Guard w/ Lash whip (65pts)

    Elites:
    3x Hive Guard (150 pts)
    3x Hive Guard (150 pts)

    Troops:
    15x Hormagaunts w/TS (120 pts)
    15x Hormagaunts w/TS (120 pts)
    15x Hormagaunts w/TS (120 pts)
    10x Genestealers w/Broodlord (186 pts)

    Heavy Support:
    Trygon w/AG (210 pts)
    Trygon w/AG (210 pts)
Tyrannofex w/ Cluster Spines, Rupture Cannon, Desiccator Larvae (265 pts)

That leaves me with 124 points to spare. Should I just throw it into more Hormagaunts?

    Also for my List 3;

Two squads of 19 Hormagaunts with TS and AG...or...a squad of 24 and 23 with just TS?
