So my friend is looking into playing 40k so i would like to let him use some of my nids to get a feel for the game before going and buying his own pieces because he is on a budget and 40k isn't cheap =p. Also 500 pts would save me money =p So i was wondering about armies at 500pts for this battle do you guys think we should have the same armies to be more fair? Or switch it up to be more fun? I was thinking this.
Tyranid Prime 80
12 Devil gaunts- 120
4 Warriors (ST,Deathspitters) 140
Parasite of Mortrex-160
20 Hormagaunts AS,TS-200
8 Genestealers AG-136
(Close range fighting army)
These probably are junk but i just want him to experience the game but idk I want variety in units any suggestions? Also i want it to be fair or even lean to his favor lol but any suggestions are welcome thank you. =]
The lists make a lot more sense if you switch the the gargoyles for the genestealers, because the PoM should always be run with gargoyles
12 Dev Gaunts
to even out the points drop AG on the hormies first and Gargoyles if you need to. Also add 2x Boneswords of Bone Sword and Lash whip to the Prime. It makes him a combat monster.
The lists are still very different (one is way more horde-oriented) but make more sense. I actually really like that 2nd list for 500 point games.
Hive Fleet Barbarossa: 1700 points
Lizardmen: 1500 points
