Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi you all!
I'm excited about sharing you my vision on a arena themed army.
With of course "el Maestro" himself:
Plasma Grenades PG, Electrocorrosive Whip EcW, Haywire Grenades HwG, Combat Drugs CD, Soul-Trap, Shadow-Field
He is the man with the most tricks up his sleeve: pumped up with drugs he wounds his rivals in combat. Not killing them but making them less harmful vs his own minions. And have to watch see his followers slashed down, finding himself powerless of preventing it. :evil grin:
He is assisted with two learned masters of pain:
2x Haemonculus 135
2x Liquifier Gun LG, Shattershard
Who are assisted by their own minions to disturb unwanted shooty people. Their must be order in this Arena!
10 Wracks 205
Acothyst, 2x LG
Raider w/ Flicker Field FF, Grisly Trophies GT
It is the reign of close combat chaos that the crowds in the stands thirst for!
To have him protected he has him the masters of evading deadly blades: two loyal squads of wyches.
2x 6 Wyches 374
Shardnet & Impaler, HWG
Hekatrix + Agoniser
Raider w/ FF, GT
To do some of his own shooty on 'bunkers' of firepower:
2x Warriors 260
Raider w/ FF
To add some natural instinct in the beauty of tearing apart foe's. El Maestro has his own collection of beasts to add to the fringe.
I see them running around and trying to jump up at vehicle to gain terrain with the juicy victims to this slaughter.
3x Beastmaster 156
4x RazorW Flock
And he owns even some Dark Eldar who mistake themselves for birds. He finds the ideal flexible crowd controller.
5x Scourges 130
2x Haywire Blaster HB
Who have a nice panoramic view on the two centre pieces of pure massacre glory. Scorpion looking engines of pain.
2x Talos Pain Engine 230
Chainflail, TL HB
And to open some nut he has his precious gunship:
3x DL, FF, Night Shields NS
Summing up some nice 1750p, don't you think?
I was doubting to replace the 3x DL to 3xDissy because of the amount of shots but than I thought that it would be better to prevent heavy shooting to hit the Taloi than to thin out it's prey.
I was fearing I would miss my squad of 5 incubi to deliver the PW punch but now I have three PW outs with = 2x Talos + RazorW Flocks.
I use my Wyches with HQ and Wracks to pressure the opponent his shooting position. This to pose them with choice of allowing the beasts and Taloi to arrive unscathed or having my stalling squads lock them in CC.
I have chosen as many mobile AT I could find. There were some doubts about the Scourges because of wasting their Shardcarbines to HB but I see them as my multi-purpose support to either AT or horde thinning or Poisonous wounds.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings about this list.
Do you see el Maestro thriving in his eternal hunger for CC?
Or do you see him dying at the wrong end of a powerweapon?
Modelcount = 60
6x Skimmer all FF, 1 Ravager
52x boots on the ground
of which 32 scoring
and 12 beasts
Kill Points = 18 but we will go for annihilation to win that one and rely on FnP to save that last one!

No-one has any feeling about my list?
Do I lack CC effectiveness or AT power?
Or do you guys think this is just too boringly all tested squads so you don't see any room for improvement?
I would be flabbergasted to believe this list is already balanced from the first try.
So thank you for your comments.
I like the theme but I'm imagining your going to have problems popping armor. Especially with the amount of Rhino/Chimeras out there this can be problematic. Think like an opponnent. Turn one they kill your ravager and go after your scourges. Now you only have the talos to really pop vehicles but he is out of range for heat lances. So your stuck trying to open Armor 11 vehicles in order to get the troops.
That's my feeling too but I now have 6-8 AT unit's (-if you split Raider & warriors). So if I don't get first to deploy I will try to keep my Ravager and Scourges out of LoS and push forward with the Taloi, Beast and 2 warrior Raiders.
Behind this line my Wyches and Wracks have their Raiders in cover.
I was doubting to try to fit in some Blaster Pistols to give the Wyches and Archon the chance to pop a vehicle before assaulting it. But I can't see where I could borrow the points.
The idea about this list is to have the enemy make to choose between going for my AT and facing with the problem of having 5 CC units sitting in front of him on turn 2, ready to assault.
Do you have any suggestions what to cut to get those extra AT in?
You could always give the taloi haywire blasters.
I run 2 taloi w/tl-hb & cf and a ravager w/3dl & ff, IG hates hates taloi & at a total of 345 pts they are a steal. By the way for some reason I read heat lances.
This night I played the Night Hawks of my m8.
He had the following 1750 points:
2x Command Squad (5 Bikes)
3x LC+SS+MB, TH+SS, 3x Meltagun
Captain with Relic Blade, Digital Weapons, only one with MB
3x Bike Squad (5 Bikes + 1 Attack Bike)
2x Meltagun, Serge with Combimelta, MM Att Bike
We played Annhilation, Pitched battle and he deployed first as far as possible in the centre, shielding his troops with his SS Command sqauds for cover.
I counter deploy with the Taloi on the sides, left the Scourges in Cover. In the Right-centre, next to cover I put the two Shooting boats as shield for my Wyches Raiders and Ravager. The Wracks Raider only has Talos as cover. On the right between two woods the Beastpack deploys.
We roll Painbringer Drugs. =D
He moves up all his bikes up my left. He is lucky with some melta shots and I failed 5/6 cover saves an my Raiders: Wrecked Wracks, Blown op shooty (3 men survive), Immobilized other shooty one. He also reduces the Scourges to 2 but they hold.
GT payed of here in not being pinned.
We counter with Turbo w/ EA Archon to the left side and other wyches to the right. This was an tactical error as I just had split my major CC units. The wracks ran for the cover in the centre but where way off (needed 6). The Beasts push forward on the right flank, the Talos moves into cover on the same flank. In the centre the warriors moved towards the centre. The Ravager moved into shooting lane in the left-centre. The Talos in front of him also closing the gap.
We had some mediocre shooting and killed about 2 bikes in total (1x LC+SS).
He moves in with one command and two troops on my Archon, which raiders is exploded and they got charged.
In the foregoing fire round the Archon fails his SF. In the following assault phase the wyches got wiped away and we kill about 3 bikes. The Arcon holds and ties up the 3 squads.
The rest of his forces engage my Talos and Wracks after failing with all his Melta Fire to wound my Talos. But they did finish the job in CC.
We counter with some fire power and the Beasts charge to Command squad to lock them together with Att bike and the wyches come to the aid of the Archon. They fail to save him, as he is singled out. The get overrun by the bikes.
Beast got killed off in CC.
The 4 Bikes squad shoot and assault the ravager, only to shake it. Maybe I could have moved him further away...
My scourges got also involved in CC by 2 bikes. They stalemate. 4+ Sv FTW!
We move away and try to wound some with our left over Warriors and Scourges and Raider. With 1 succes.
The second Talos moves in and destroys the lonely Attack Bike.
The Melta gun fail to harm my left-over skimmers: they only shake the Ravager even after scoring 2 6's on the krak grenades.
His commands squad also fails to wound the second Talos they got locked in CC.
The Talos finishes off the Captain and moves towards the Scourges.
The remaining bike squad finished of the 5 warriors and consolidate in cover.
The Talos moves in on the CC with them.
I got very lucky with DL fire: at last at he fails all of his left over 3/3 cover saves! Only two bikes left. Which are quickly disposed by the Talos!
Although we gave away 14 Killpoints.
Lessons learned: in Deployment Point shooty Raider in a fring lane so even with Imm he can be usefull.
Don't split up main CC force if the opponent has über CC.
I was lucky to roll Painbringer for my lord but unfortunately he failed his first SF save.
The beast unit didn't really deliver a blow to the Command squad but they were able to lock them down 1 turn. I think I'm going to play them more as a shield unit, with their wound allocation they are a good fit for it.
They provide cover for the raiders who can do a combined charge.
All in all all units contributed to the victory but the Taloi expelled in resisting Melta Fire!
So I'm quite happy with the lists performance without a lot of poisonous shooting vs an all bike list. It was a close call after all. Nice game.
Up to the next battle to see how they perform there.
