So I'm a long time Tau player, have a few space marines and have recently gotten into putting together a box of necrons ive had in the cupboard for months (well...over a year). At the minute Im only going to build up to a 1k force as im out of work and quite frankly skint!
Heres the list and hopefully people will tell me if im doing something wrong. I usually trawl guides and such though so I hope its a nice little 1k list. But im willing to take advice!
Warrior x 10
Warrior x 10
Immortal x 5
Destroyer x 3
Destroyer x 3
Scarab x 5
It works out at exactly 1000pts.
I know at 1k points you dont really have too many options with necrons but any advice will be listened to and appreciated.
I'm trying to find cheap destroyer upper bodies and guns online for the immortals. If you click on my sig it should direct you to a few pics of the half painted army and the immortal model (If you want to look that is). Apologies in advance for the photo quality!
I really like the conversion on the Immortals, good job. Where are you getting the bits and about how much is it running you $$$ to convert each one?
About the list:
It seems decent, but I find the Immortals to be out of place, along with the Scarabs. I think you would be better off scrapping both and getting 4 more destroyers to end up with the "standard" 1k list: Lord w/Rez 2-10x Warriors, 2-5x Destroyers.
I'll have to have a look at forking out for some extra destroyers then. Currently out of work so im trying to buy as little as possible, so i might use this list for a few weeks and add destroyers one at a time
As to the immortals I suppose they come in at about half to two thirds of the cost of a metal model, depending on where you buy and you could argue that they have Gauss cannons rather than blasters (if you're pedantic). They just have a good hulking look about them! You have to trawl through the bitz sites online and they come in at about 5 pounds sterling.
It just then needs the left arm cutting to move the hand so you can cup it under the gun. I found when I didnt do this the arm looked like a long monkey arm and completely out of scale! I suppose because its not mounted on a larger destroyer body and base. I had also originally mounted the model on a 40mm base but it looks much more menacing on a smaller one so I changed this to 20mm
i would keep the scarabs but drop the immortals at 1k, i think that a couple more destroyers would do way more damage than the immortals at this point level. use the scarabs as fodder to occupy those pesky assaulty units that like to take out our warriors in CC if they are tied up with scarabs you can pick them off with destroyers. You can try them out though. I like immortals, just so pricey. Conversions look great btw
