Necron Lord with Res Orb and Warscythe 150
10 Warriors 180
10 Warriors 180
10 Warriors 180
4 Destroyers 200
4 Destroyers 200
3 Heavy Destroyers 195
I'm gonna play against a friend whose army consists of lots of dedicated troops (berzerkers, plague, thousand sons etc.) and lots of heavy vehicles (defilers, vindicator).
Going for the Phalanc Tactic:
Hopefully I'll play 1st to destroy or immobile his rhinos(Destroyers) and destroy one of his defilers/vindi(heavies).
I believe that I have enough firepower to annihilate his army, both his infantry and his armor.
The one Monolith may DS with 10 warriors in reserves if the mission needs objective controlling.
Thoughts and comments all acceptable
I personally think that you're better off going with another 4 destroyers instead of the 3 heavies. Not only do the heavies make for an easy KP but if they all get shot down you won't get your WBB. 4 destroyers will honestly have a better chance to at least glance the heavy vehicle from shooting. If you're worried about the heavy tanks, well that's why you have 2 monoliths to particle whip. Your setup is good but there's really no point for warscythe on the lord especially when your leaving it alone behind the warriors. If you have the points switch it out for gaze of flame and hide your lord in the middle warrior squad the move the lord into the warrior squad about to get charged if that ever happens.
Also if I did the math right, you are already over 1750 by 5 points. By taking put the warscythe and heavies then adding in the regular destroyer will put you 5 points under.

I need the Warscythe to counter-assault sth heavy or a strong HQ (oblits DS, a DP etc.). GoF is still viable but I have no pts remaining. I'll exchange though the heavies for ordinary destros cause they don't WBB and thus are an easy KP.
5 pts over aren't a problem cause I'm playing against a friend as I stated above.
Am I now 10 pts over?
When it comes to points im pretty strict on them, friendly or not, i will never run a list over the value im playing at, and Yes youre now 10 points over. As for the lord counter assaulting...I think that's a Terrible idea unless your lord is equipped with the right equipment, ie destroyer body, warscythe, GoF, Chono, phaseshifter.
Plus oblits arnt going to assault you that often, especially if they are out numbered. Against necrons or any army for that matter you shouldnt really deep strike oblits. They carry a gun for every range level and therefore should be on the field shooting turn 1 instead of risking not showing up till turn 5. If anything deep strikes you can just simply walk away and rapid fire your warriors 60 shots into them.
As for Daemon princes, they won't be deep striking either, against necrons lash is very effective and being able to move 12" turn 1 then lash some warriors with his 24" lash is to be more scared of then him deep striking.

I played against this friend of mine and the result was unexpectably good. I didn't add the warscythe not becuase of the point limit but because it doesn't worth its points against my friend's army. The point limit doesn't matter so much when playing friendly games, since u can tell your friend "add a combi-weapon or extra armor to your rhino" or sth like that. This the one and only reason I'm not so strict when playing with friends.
I massacred his army. I lost about 15 warriors and 9 destroyers but destroyed his whole army except for 5 Plague Marines. The game was 4 objectives- Dawn of War. We started shooting 1st round and I immobilised both of his rhinos (which carried berzerkers) with my destroyers, while he killed about 5 warriors and 2 destroyers with his defiler and oblits. Next round I rapid fired his D P with all of my warriors and killed him. I wrecked his rhinos and then shoted down one squad of Berzerkers with the Particle Whip. He assaulted me with the other, sweeping 2 warriors (killing the other 8 ) but hopefully almost everyone came back with the monolith teleporting. I shooted at his berzerkers with my warriors and killed them while my destroyers were fighting plague marines from range. Then my Mono deep striked and killed the 6 remaining plague marines with his particle whip (no save and FNP because of instant death). The only thing that he had was another plague marine squad and another D P with Nurgle Mark. He sweeped a squad of warriors and next round I managed to kill him with my shooting (about 18 warriors and 5-6 destroyers. 5th round begins and he has a Defiler and a 2nd Squad of Plague Marines keeping an objective. Plague Marines shoot at my destroyers and kill 3 of them while the defiler tries to destroy the monolith. The monolith is still alive and during my shooting phase it destroys his defiler. After that I just turbo-boosted and denied his objective.
The dice shows 2 and the game ends.
If playing objective games, oblits may need to D S somewhere since they are difficult to die with gauss flayers(they need about 108 shots if my maths are correct, this means 2 rounds shooting with ALL my warriors) and thus they can keep 1 objective denied and simultaneously shoot at my warriors. They will lose 1-2 rounds of shooting on average which is less important than denying one objective.
As for Daemon Princes of course they are not going to D S. I just realised yesterday that shooting with all my warriors just kills them. Plus Particle Whip to destroy his troops.
Nice looks like your opponent was using a decent list too. My only question is how did anything get into CC with your warriors? You downed his rhinos holding the Berzerkers. All in all it sounded like an awesome game although you probably shouldnt have DS'd the second monolith since you knew he was just going to charge you with everything, your monolith could have been particle whipping turn 1/2.
