what i would like are suggestions on how to take this to a 3000 list i would be more than willing to drop the rippers as im not overly keen on them this is just so i dont have to spend money i dont have for a while maybe even some links if possible to some UK retailers who are licend to sell GW stuff (preferably cheaper)
Many thanks in advance
I think the message here has to be dont try to run before you can walk.
What Im trying to say is why are you trying to build a 3k list when you havnt got a good 2000 point list (which is a bigish game even in itself!) just yet? I think your aiming too high and thats gonna cause you some problems. Make a 1750/2000 point list, then take it from there. Going straight in a 3000 is a bad idea.
So with that in mind, what you have here is a real hodge podge of random units, and isnt great for making lists with. If you want to have an effective list, your going to have to buy things. Im sorry but thats the truth. What you have at the moment wont make a good army, and that wont make good games.
So there are 2 main problems with your model collection. First of all, your units are either too small to be effective (The raveners, the biovore, and the lictor) or too heavily upgraded (the tyrant, the hormaguants, the genestealers, the carnifex.) Youll need to sort those out before you go any further.
Secondly wheres the anti tank? YOu dont have any. And without any anti tank, you cant create a semi decent list. You must must must have some way to take care of vehicles.
So ill start from the top, then move onto how to make the list better as a whole.
The tyrant - lose the upgrades. Regen is worthless, toxin sacs make you less likley to wound anything T4 or below, so theyre never a good buy on anything S6 or higher. Also dont bother with the thorax swarm, its not worth the points. Wings could be a good investment here.
Prime - good. But he needs weapons! Get him a pair of boneswords. Also lose toxin sacs
Lictor - 1 on its own isnt worth it. Lose it.
Deathleaper - good
Doom of malanthi - really needs a mycetic spore, or he'll die. Youll have to lose one of those to get some anti tank.
Warriors - good, but over upgraded. Take 4-5, give them boneswords, deathspitters and a venom cannon. Toxin sacs optional.
Termaguants - suck on their own. Dont bother.
Hormaguants - good, just take toxin sacs though
Genestealers - 16 is overkill. They should have 8-10 per brood, and should NEVER have adrenal glands. Toxin sacs optional, tallons are better left elsewhere.
Rippers - No no no no no. Just no. Never take them
Raveners - need 5-6, and rending.
Carnifex - way too heavily upgraded, and not really worth it compared to trygons. If your gonna take one, then go with either 2 devourers, or just plain with bioplasma.
Biovore - needs 3 of them.
Okay the list as a whole. You need anti tank. Really really badly. 2 sets of 3 hive guard should be a minimum, and A tyrannofex could come in handy too. If you take out everything I surgested, you should be able to afford it. With anything else left over, Id get another 20 toxin sac hormaguants. Also Id look to replace the carnifex with a trygon, or at the very least, find the room to slot another one in.
Sorry i couldnt be more possetive, but you really need to take a step back. Dont build to 3000 untill you have a good list at a lower points level sorted, because at the moment, you dont.

thank you for a quick response the above is exactly as it was built for the last codex so all my models are wysiwyg with a few exceptions
Tyrant has actually fallen to pieces when I moved home GW super glue really isn't that super his Scything talons are all that's still attached (lower limbs) as to wings I neither have the money nor the inclination to convert them how ever that said I am looking to get a FW on when funds allow (saving for quad KR case first) I do however have parts to give it either a second set of talons or a gun (not the twin linked's though). Oh and how does Toxin sac make it harder to wound lower T values as posioned attacks 4+ doesnt Override S value if S value wounds better or at least it never has in any games I have ever played (23 years of game exp and i have 1500 of orks i use for 5th ed) if i am wrong though thats fine will grab the knife and butcher him.
my lictor has also fallen apart so no harm not taking him for awhile
Doom is actually a normal Zoan that i never got round to building and i could push together a spore easily enough out of paper mashie and spare nid parts
termagants = fodder and cover saves for stuff behind them and as i alrdy have them built i might as well use them as such for now ( i do plan on converting a tervigon again when fund allow)
Horaguants easy enought o hobby knife off the AG as they arnt even undercoated yet
i have 6 stealers already built + 10 on spur so easy enough there to build then with out talons (never really used them in any edition as i dont really care for them or didnt stealers that is)
Rippers jsut becuase i have them as stated more than happy to drop them
Fex was from the battle force before they removed it from box cost me like £2 for him when working out the prices of every thing form the box and he proved very usefull in the last ed soaking up huge amounts of fire power and i do plan on a trygon again when fund allow
Biovore again just because I have It used to have 3 but 2 have vanished
ok all that said I have never liked to write competitive lists because i prefer the challenge of being the under dog so to speak
and as to buying more models i will as and when i can hence i asked for links to sites in the UK that sell GW stuff cheaply to minimise the costs of such i normally play around 1500 points i like to have a 3000 point force so i can swap units in and out giving me more choice.
Thank you again for the fast response and some of what you suggested i will be able to implement with out incurring much cost.
Would you suggest Heavy Vcannon or STcannon for HT as you are right i do need some Anti tank or the games will just be a wash and even though i like being the underdog I don't want just bend over and take it
Thanks in advance
As for the rest of it, ill mostly just skip to the bit about the tyrant. Niether. Using a tyrant for anti tank is a massive waste of points and infantry killing potential. I never advise taking an HVC on the tyrant, and I could only see the need for a stranglethorn if you paired it with a TL devourer and used it to kill infantry. Set your tyrant up with dual tallons, and get anti tank units, rather than trying to make tyrants into anti tank units.
