Seems solid. However, to make it more "competitive" I would consider:

Dropping the Gargoyles and wings on the Tyrant (Give the Tyrant 2x Devourers)
Dropping the harpy (For me its either 2x harpies or none)
Dropping a squad a stealers (The one with no broodlord)

    From here I would:
    Add a Tyrannofex
Deck the termagaunt squad to 20 and give them devourers
And load up on as many biovores as you can.

And if you have any leftover point just get more hive guards/gaunts etc.

But it is a solid list as it is now for friendly matches. However it lacks the real shooting capability that is needed to make a Tyranid list hard hitting.

I'd like to try and keep Gargoyles in the list as they're my favorite unit. Would bumping out a squad of Stealers and adding a 2nd Harpy with 1 unit of 20 Gargoyles be viable? Also giving Tyrant 2 Devs keeping wings?

Sounds fine to me! If you want to be nasty I find dropping a Dakkafex (Carnifex with 2x devourers in a spore) Is VERY fun to use when running a fast army list like yours.

If I have a 2000pt game I may add that in with some bio-plasma. I used to roll a deep strike list; however, my reserve rolls always failed tremendously and I ditched the whole thing. Dropping a dakkafex does sound very fun though

Ive got a couple of thoughts here, but considering its a friendly they shouldnt be too hard to correct.

Firstly one big brood of genestealers is always better than two small units. 1 unit of 6 isnt enough to get anything done. Youll want 8-10, with broodlord, and toxin sacs.

The main problem however is a distinct lack of synapse! Youve only got two synapse creatures and a LOT of stuff for them to babysit. Switching the gargolyes to one unit of 20 and adding a harpy is good, but they definatly need something to go with them, and that tyrant wont last forever. I advise making the trygon a prime and getting some warriors in a spore when you go up in points. 2 syanpse creatures at 2k isnt going to go well

To find the points, lose AG from the trygon and the tyrant and lose acid blood too, its not worth it. You can probably lose OA too in all fairness. From there, lose the hormaguants and buff the tervigon brood up to 30. That SHOULD give you the points you need to make the changes.

Would the Warriors you recommended be better off as CC or ranged?

Warriors dont have the guns to be ranged in all honesty, theyre designed to charge in firing off a few shots as they go. I mean look at the profile! Theyve got WS5, S and T4, 3 attacks each and 3 wounds! Compare that to their rather medicore BS of 3... well its clear where they belong. If you fancy splashing the points, 5 with boneswords, deathspitters and adrenal glands has yet to let me down, barbed strangler/venom cannon is optional and if points are tight devourers are still very good.

You'll just need to bump up your synapse, even for the friendly games. Quick fix, Tyranid Prime, unless your going to get that squad of warriors. Ether will help stream line your list and make it more effective.
Army's used: Space Wolves, Tomb Kings, High Elves, Tyranids, Tau and Eldar.
