So I know I'm 7 points over, but I can't think of what to cut out. The general strategy is to get the fire dragon in the backfield (behind enemy lines) and destroy their whirlwinds/basalisks, etc. Then I'll have them advance and blow up the heaviest armour they see. The hawks are in there to jump down, drop some grenades, skyleap up, and repeat until I need them to actually fight. (If I wanted to, is it possible to put my Autrach in with them?). My Avengers are there for ranged combat, but I can use the second one as a tarpit. My farseer buffs/debuffs/blows up enemy's heads. The banshees go into combat, probably in the falcon or using cover, and chop up enemies with haevy armour. My scorpions and there to tank and kill hordes. The jetbikes run around mowing down/finishing off weak units and contesting objectives. The falcon and 2nd wave serpent are to transport and blow stuff up. The autarch is there for close combat prowess, and his +1 reserve roll.
Hope that even though i'm a bit late the advise is still useful for you. First thing I can see wrong is you're under the minimum number of warlocks required for a squad. You also do not need Conceal with a unit that contains only Warlocks as they already get a better save naturally. Also you have four powers for your farseer but no Spirit Stones, meaning you have three powers you can't use each turn and these are effectively wasted points. A popular combo for farseer powers is Doon and Fortune. Good idea having the Dragons in a Serpent, they get cut to ribbons otherwise. In my experience you will often see your troops and elites cut down very fast if they're out in the open. Most people combat this in one of two ways (there may be others but they don't immediately spring to mind.) If you're planning on staying away from mech, use an Avatar to give fearless to your nearby troops. They will still get cut down but at least they won't flee. The other option is to grab a few more wave serpents, then keep your hard hitting, fragile units in them. The other units can hide behind the serpents, giving you better chances to get your guys to the front in one peice. It's just my personal opinion but anythnig Hawks can do something else can do better. If you're coming up against a MEQ army they're almost worse than useless and the grenades, skyleap, grenades combo makes for a very inneficient use of 180 points.(By the way you can have your Autarch with them if you want as he or she has wings. Their reserves ability still functions even if they're off the board too.) I would suggest taking Shadowstrike for your Scorpions and freeing up the Wave Serpent for your Banshees. If you choose to drop your Warlocks, put Spirit Stones on your Farseer and put it in with the Banshees. Banshees with Doom on their target are absolutely lethal. I would also highly suggest taking a look at War Walkers. Scatter Lasers on a group of 3 War Walkers is amazing and can be improved even further with Guide from your farseer. I suspect this is becoming too long winded so I will leave it there. Let me know if you'd like to discuss any units or tactics etc.
Sorry for the late re-reply. I almost forgot I posted this up. After (a lot) of playtesting, I have come to the conclusion that hitting someone over the head with a starcannon would be just as effective as shooting him with it. As such, I dropped them. I also upgraded all the shuriken catapults on my vehicles to cannons. I gave my falcon spiritstones and a bright lance. 3 s8 ap2 shots should take out most tanks. Most games at my LGS are around 2000, so I have a few extra points to work with. I dropped my Autarch and farseer and replaced them with Eldrad and an Avatar. I also gave my fire dragons exarch crack shot and the db flamer - and it has been working wonders. i have the following models -
Avater, Eldrad, the farseers/warlock box, all the troops, a falcon and a wave serpent, fire dragons, and a full unit of swooping hawks. I know they aren't great, but surprisingly there arent many MEQ players at my LGS - plus I love the model and the sunrifle. Lastly I gave my scorpion's exarch the claw and my banshee the executioner. Thanks for the replies.
