so, you broke a few rules with the upgrades for some units

you mixed ranged and cc upgrades on your tyrant, and then gave him way to many upgrades. you want to dedicate your tyrant to either CC or range he cant do both. usually it's cheaper to pick specifics ex. tyrant, 2x brainleech devs, old adversary, 1 guard. is a simple effective setup which costs much less.

you also have to many troops. 3 choices is fairly average for 1500 points. there's also no focus in what troops you took. it looks like you just took 1 of each down the line in the troops section. while all the units may be fun to use (they are) if you want help to presumably pull a W over your opponent this should change to fit a theme.

how do you plan on breaking any of his vehicles? don't count on the trygon he's melee :/

you need a ranged answer to vehicles, it's kind of dissapointing but if your not doing a hardcore full reserve list then you'll need to fill up your elite/fast attack/heavy with guns.

honestly, I'd say pick a theme/focus for your army (shooty, assaulty, deepstrike/reserves, etc) then come back we'll be able to give you much better focused advice.

Theres really nothing to add here, fenix said everything that needs to be said. The thing that needs to be stressed above all else is that you have no anti tank. This is virtually a crime when building tyranid lists, if you dont take ranged anti tank, you lose. Simple as that, and doubly so against the new crons.

Id love to give some constructive criticism but as fenix says, this is a scrap it and rebuild from the ground up job. Focus your unit choices, get some anti tank and try again, see what you can do.

No no no no you do NOT want to be running that last list. Ill do my best to explain whats wrong here.. Also a small point, It might be a tad easier to present lists like this in future "5 Warriors - Scything tallons, Deathspitters, Adrenal glands." Might just be me but I find that a lot easier to read that having it all spaced out and verticle, and it means we can keep the whole list on screen at once

    Okay from the top.

Tervigons are wasted in the HQ slot. Never take them as an HQ, ever. In this case its even worse because you actually have some termaguants!!! For every unit of termaguants you take, you can take one tervigon as a troops choice. Use it, its a very potent rule. But more on that later. Also dont take CC upgrades on a tervigon, you dont want them in combat if you can help it. Axe acid blood and the tallons.

Prime - Okay, but needs some sort of power weapon. Dual boneswords is my personal.

The big problem here is that you have no reserves bonus!!! This is suicide in an all reserves list, which arent great at the best of times. You MUST take Hive commander or your army will come in piecemeal and be cut to ribbons.

Zoanthropes and Doom - MUST have a mycetic spore. Footslogging zoans just die in an instant and doom would never get going properly.

Hive guard - you want 4 of these minimum in anything above 1000 points. Id still take 4 at 1000 points anyway. These are essentially a must have.

Genestealers - awful. 6 is too small to do anything at all and will die against most units, whilst adrenal glands offers you absolutely nothing. Your I6 already so outpace most units in the game, and most of the damage you do comes from rending, so having an extra point of strength wont do you any favours. Also 2 units is really unessecary for the most part. 1 unit of 10, with toxin sacs (optional, but well worth it) is plenty.

    Termaguants - units of 10 termaguants are useless. Seriously, there is no situation when paying for a unit of 10 termaguants is a good idea. In fact Id say termaguants suck no matter what, UNLESS you have a tervigon. And even then, you need numbers. The most effective set up is the following;

Tervigon, with adrenal glands, toxin sacs and catalyst and between 25-30 (I always run 30, you can get away with a bit less if you really have to) termaguants. Put catalyst on the termaguants, use the tervigon to buff them to incredible levels with poison and furious charge (re-rolling wounds against T4 is awesome) and if you have a prime, put him in there. This is a super unit that really works and is worth its weight in gold. Use the tervigon to spawn units to claim objectives, or possibly tie up weak units if you can get away with it.

Warriors - give them rending claws over tallons and they're okay.

    Trygon - good.

I wouldn't bother with all reserve lists. They really don't work that well these days. The first list you had was better, but still had some serious flaws. Also splitting the army with a lot off the board and a little on it is a terrible idea. The stuff left behind gets killed pretty quickly and the stuff coming in ends up being un-supported.

    Keep trying, you'll get there

Woah, little far the other way with the writing out the rules and such, we dont need basic wargear or rules written for us, we know what they've got. You only need to really write down what upgrades you give them, things like special rules or armour are always the same and we know them, so you can save writing that Just makes it a little easier to read and critique

Anyway, looking better, but still lacking in some critical areas. The tyrant is in dire need of a guard, otherwise he's going to be pasted pretty quickly by enemy fire. You also really need anti tank. I wasnt joking about 4 Hive guard being nigh on compulsory. Zoanthropes are fragile, often tied up quickly in combat and blocked by psychic powers. Lose Doom if you have to.

The hormaguants are too few in number to be effective, 20 is a minimum. They'll just die. Similar story with the termaguants.

The warriors are okay, but again would need rending claws. I think really you just have to axe these, they dont fit the list well. Lose those, grab Hive guard. You might need to lose the hormaguants too, more termaguants is a lot better than a few hormas in this case.

It seems at the moment your trying to take tonnes of different units and make them into a list. You just cant do that and make it work. You have to take a few units, make them work at their best and use that to create a coherant, effective force

Ah, wonderful Good list, this should do nicely One thing to change, lose a zoan, get yourself a tyrant guard. Job done, good list! And this will work against pretty much anyone, not just crons.
