Hey guys, I just wrote up a canoptek heavy list at 1500pts. Will be playing mostly against Blood Angels and Dark Eldar, with a slight chance of Black Templars.
- Res Orb
10 Warriors 245
10 Warriors 130
5 Warriors 165
4 Scarabs 60
4 Scarabs 60
5 Wraiths 210
- 3 Whip coils
- 1 Particle Caster
3 Canoptek Spyder 150
Tek's ride in the Ghost Ark and can join either squad if the Ark goes down. Lord just sweeps and harasses rear deployed units. Was tossing around the idea of dropping one of the barges and adding another spyder and splitting them into 2 groups of 2 with Gloom prisms. Also, the night scythe with warriors feels heaps out of place, but I was pretty keen on another twin-linked destructor floating around.
if you want the tek to join the ark unit than there can only be 9 warriors as the ark can only hold 10
I had planned on walking the squads with the ark for support with the crypteks inside. I might lose 2 of the warriors and put a gloom prism in the spyder squad.
ok but remember that they wont get much shooting in then unless they dont move, i would just make them into 9 man squads and have them sit in the ark with the tek, but thats just me
also i just noticed that you will be coming across DE, i have played many a game against these xenos, piece of advice sit still for the first few turns and just shoot and shoot, if possible target their transports to slow them down and make use of any cover
You do realize that Crypteks can only join a unit before deployment, not after the game has began. They're not independent characters, and only join units via special rules. You would be better suited by splitting the Crypteks between the two units and having one of them ride on the Ark while the other slogs.
Also, why the Res Orb on your Bargelord? It's an expensive piece of wargear for a 1-model unit which shouldn't be expected to join any other units during the game. I'd consider dropping it and a scarab for a third Destruction Cryptek with the Warrior unit on the Night Scythe, and Fabricator Claw for one of the Spyders. If the Scythe should go down, the Warriors still function as backline objective grabbers and the Cryptek would still be able to lend support fire to midfield. The Claw is nice on the Spyders, since you're running 5 pieces of armour that could need repairs while they march up field.
I've recently become a fan of this thing called Dubstep. And you should too.

Lose the Orb from bargelord. It is nigh useless to him. Then lose 1 Warrior from the 1st squad so you can fit the Destro-tek and 9 Warriors into Ghost Ark. Use the remaining points to get Fabricator Claw or two for your Spyders.
Also, consider dropping the Immortals and putting Warriors and one more Destro-tek into the Night Scythe.
