    Using Razorwings...

    I really want to make use of DE aeroplanes but can't find a good way to do it. This is my best attempt thus far:

    12 vehicles, 16 Lances, 9 Blasters, 6 Haywires, eight Monoscythe pie-plates and a couple of Shock Prows for good measure. Only 58 bodies is not exactly great for DE, but it's spread quite wide so I reckon it's run-able.

    Idea is, lots of Posion, lots of Lances, lots of things to shoot at, all of which make the Razorwings less attractive targets than they would be otherwise, plus enough anti-tank and anti-infantry that I can leave the odd squad in reserve without missing it too much. The Prows on the Trueborn Raiders are there to Tank Shock nasty CC units that might like to charge my Scourges, to TS stuff out of cover, or just to Ram things if the Lances fail me.


    So, what do you reckon? Bear in mind I have zero experience with DE here :-P

    I think there's some work to do with optimisation.

    Take the trueborn squads for example, they have 9x splinter shots and 2 lances whereas for 3 more points you could have a venom with 3x trueborn sporting blasters. That gives you 3x lances, 12x splinter shots and a flickerfield. Plus the lances can all shoot at a vehicle and the splinter shots can all shoot infantry which is much more efficient.

    I've got similar issues with the way the razorwings are loaded out. The monoscythe missiles are good vs infantry but the dark lances are really anti tank weapons. Dissintegrators have more synergy with the missiles.

    I think you're light on close combat ability and you lack the ability to shoot the enemy off the board.

    If you want a shooty army you need to optimise your shooting better and that means dropping at least one razorwing in favour of a ravager and adding flickerfields and maybe nightshields as much as possible.
